> 3 dayI purchased 2 of these. No issues at all. Using 1 gig fiber SFPs connected to cisco switchs. They just work. Products were well packed, no damage. Very simple.ple plug and play.

> 3 dayI was worried that it wouldnt work with our AT&T fiber circuit, but we had no issues getting it setup and working. Throughput is amazing.

> 3 dayGot this to run fibre from my home office to the front room so the smart TV didnt keep buffering over wifi, so easy to use just plug and play with one at each of the fibre cable and all my buffering problems have gone.

Greater than one weekI bought this fiber media converter to create an ethernet connection between an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and the land station controller. The fiber solved some issues for me that UTP was causing. 3 camera signals and the control connection are carried over the fiber. I selected this media converter because it was inexpensive and had the LC connectors that I was looking for. The small size was also critically important. I removed the case so that I could more easily squezee the media converter in with the mini switch.

> 3 dayThese 10gTek media converters are missing two key features as far as I am concerned- the ability to select auto-negotiation or force duplex settings, and they do not propagate link state from copper to fiber and vice versa. Like it or not- a lot of providers force the speed and duplex settings on their connections. Without the ability to force these settings- these converters would not work with my service providers. If you are just connecting two of these devices together to traverse a distance- then youre probably fine- but if you want to work with other devices- you could run into problems. The second issue is far more serious in my opinion. 10GTek seems to have implemented these converters as a simple 2 port switch. What that means is that you can plug a cable into the RJ45 connector and you will get a link even if there fiber is down (or disconnected entirely). If you want to track interface status for something like HSRP, or if you want BGP to fail over immediately because the link went down- youre out luck. Your BGP session will have to time out before it fails over which is less than ideal- and interface tracking wont work at all. As an alternative you should consider the TRENDnet TFC-1000MGA or TFC-1000MGB instead. Both of these devices correctly relay link state from copper to fiber and vice versa. If the fiber is down- the copper interface will be down. If the copper is down- the fiber interface will be down. You can also force speed and duplex settings or leave it to auto-negotiate.

> 3 dayNot an Ethernet to fiber media converter. Fiber media has a different connection to a TV, receiver, or even a Blu-ray player.
