There is nothing complicated about plugging a phone into the cord so I am not sure if it is the cable or the plug. Unfortunately, I received a bad device. Based on the reviews, if the device worked, it would be a great product. I would not recommend this product because the most recent review are not positive.

> 3 dayThis charger is Super Fast charging capable and does it well. It charges my Dell XPS 13 as well. While its not the most compact, it does hold a lot of power! It also charges Apple devices quickly. The cord that came with it is SO long and I am SO happy about that! Super useful, exactly what I needed :) Would recommend!

Within a few minutes I went from 2% to over 25% battery life remaining on my phone. It feels well built and it didnt get hot. I would definitely recommend this product.
