The drive is small, easily pocketable and fits in the small pocket of jeans. The product photos shows text printed on the drive but the drive I received has none, its a nice clean silver finish thumb drive. There is no hole for attaching a lanyard. The cap for the USB Type A port attaches to the drive magnetically. The drive casing and cap is metal so should be fairly durable. The metal also helps to dissipate heat when the drive is in use, it gets hot but not burning. When plugged into a Windows 10 PC, the drive was auto detected and already formatted. The drive is able to reach the advertised speed when used with a Type C port. The Type A port was slower but not by too much.

Thumb drives are still getting larger & larger every day, but this 256gb size is a really great size now in my opinion for PCs & Macs or phones with USB-C. Big enough to hold quite a few HD 1080p & even 4k movies & shows, or just tons of various files but not SO large that it breaks the bank! This drive is neat. VERY well made & its USB-C OR USB 3.0 whichever you need or prefer. Transfer speeds were lightning fast & steady the whole way for very large files through the USB-C port and still good & stable through USB 3.0 but the speed did drop off a good bit through USB 3 on large transfers. No drop off at all through USB-C. USB-C speeds were nearly 400 MB/s from my internal SSD to this drive. No noticeable heating up of this drive either. One of the better flash drives Ive had in some time.

I picked this one up to replace a 128GB drive that I use with Ventoy. I had no issues reformatting and partitioning with the Ventoy tool and both Mac and Windows PCs are easily able to read and write to the drive. Several test systems booted from the drive, both USB-A and USB-C ports, with no issues. The drive is in a metal case and has a nice weight to it. The USB-C side has a swing-away cover and the USB-A side has a magnetically attached cover. Overall, super happy with this one.

I ordered this USB drive because I occasionally have to swap large video files with clients via USB drive. One client has a newer PC but it has only USB-A type ports. I wanted a USB-C drive that I could easily use on my new M1 MacBook Pro that would also work on my clients USB-A ports on his PC. This USB drive fit the bill as it has both USB-A and USB-C connections. When I opened the box I was very pleased to find that the USB drive has no logo on it to mar the plain silver color zinc alloy metal. It looks and feels like a quality product. I plugged it in the USB-C port of my 2021 M1 MacBook Pro and opened Apples Disk Utility app to see what file system it was formatted with. I was glad to find that it was formatted with the exFAT file system. This is the one I prefer because it works with both Macs and PCs and allows file sizes over 4GB. You could always format to a different file system, but this is the one I needed and would be most useful for the largest number of people. Most shouldnt even have to think about this. I next did a speed test using the Disk Utility app. Speeds were decent, showing almost 300MB/s read speed and about 400MB/s write speed. However, the speed falls significantly short of the 500MB/s speeds claimed in the product listing. Its In the multiple tests I ran, it was 20%-40% slower than claimed. Using BlackMagic disk speed test I got results about 10% faster than Apple Disk Utility test. This speed test is optimized for larger file sizes used in video editing. I got average readings of about 330MB/s read speed and 440MB/s write speed using this disk test. This is still not exactly the 500MB/s claimed but its a bit faster than the other speed test. The speeds are definitely due to the USB drive itself as Im using it on a new Mac with 40GB/s thunderbolt 4 ports which are capable of speeds almost 100x faster than the top speeds I got with this drive. For many uses this isnt much of an issue. These are still fast speeds compared to USB 2.0, but if your work requires transferring huge video files like mine does, youll probably want to know that it may take you up to 20% to 40% longer than youd hoped.

These devices are great and this one in particular is really fast. It reads and writes at around 500 MB/s (average) which is good enough for me. The capacity is quite good at 256GB. But you should remember not to keep filling it full and then deleting everything. The more that you repeat a fill/delete cycle - the quicker the USB drives life will expire. I still need to run around with removable media, and came across this Ylmrav 256Gb Smartphone and PC OTG USB Flash Drive, and thought I’d give this a try. It comes in a nice presentation case with very nice padding. It has a nice brushed finish so there’s no issue with fingerprints. It has caps to protect both ends... the USB-A connector, and the USB-C connector. The caps are awesome! For the USB-A end cap it is MAGNETIC. Which means it won’t come loose until you pull on it. The USB-C end swivels out of the way and is also magnetic. I have no concerns that I’ll lose these end caps. I have some specialized utilities, and I did a 13 hr reliability test, where different size data chunks are written to the entire disk in three iterations. No issues whatsoever. On a standard USB 3.0 connection, data transfer rates averaged 352 MB.sec. Sadly, I was not able to test transfer speeds under USB 3.2 protocols. In broad testing, USB 3.0 transfer rates were good. 1.55 GB in 10.6 sec 6.34 GB in 59.2 sec I have no doubt that USB 3.2 rates would be consistently faster. This flash drive just FEELS great too. It’s chunky and solid, and is built like a tank. This is a utility drive I’ll use over and over!

I ordered this to easily transfer files from my Samsung Galaxy phone. It works like a charm. I didn’t have any super huge files, but it seems fast enough for what I was transferring. It was easy to use and worked well. 256GB is a good size and can fit a large amount of pictures or files. The drive itself is well made. I do wish that both ends had the flip off but connected cap like the one on the USB-C end. That way one wouldn’t need to worry about losing a cap and keeping up with a small piece. I’m very pleased with this memory stick and would recommend it.

This drive is as advertised. I tested it in Crystal Disk using the usb-c connector in a thunderbolt 3 port and got exactly 500 MB/s write and 547 MB/s read - so significantly faster than any typical usb flash drive, but obviously not up there with an external nvme drive which test at right about 1000 MB/s on the same thunderbolt 3 port.

Just as advertised and as a rather skeptical person, I found it much nicer than I was expecting. I knew in advance it is a rather large drive, yet was not expecting such a smooth well designed case; an impressive design using a solid feeling alloy which likely helps disperse heat too. The drive is extremely fast and comes pre-formatted as exFAT with 238 GB of available space according to Win11. I tested it with AJA prior to reformatting, and it returned great results; 475 write & 510 read using USB-C. My requirements for this required it be formatted as FAT32 which was done with Ridgecrops FAT32 Formatter. Typically Windows cant format drives over 16 GB as FAT32, so if you have this need you will likely have to use a 3rd party tool too. I re-ran the speed test again, and although not as fast, it still returned great numbers (312 write & 505 read). If youre able to access it as exFAT I highly recommend you stick with that, for that does not constrain individual files to a 4 GB cap like FAT32 does. The cap that covers the USB side of this drive is held tightly in place magnetically which I really like. The cap on the USB-C side pulls off and swings out of the way so as not to be lost; both are well designed with a matching metal finish. Since I will mainly use the USB-C side, at first I wished it also had a removable magnetic cap. Though after some reflection I think the swing away design is probably better, for that cap will normally be off and Id be sure to misplace it. That said, most laptops will need the USB-C cap to be swung upward, or the weight of your laptop will resting on the cap; which would not be good for your port or the drive. I included a picture of it swung down on my Acer gaming laptop to show how it extends below the level of the laptop if it were not resting upon another laptop. This drive will spend 99% of its life connected to a 3-port USB-C hub being used by my Anker Nebula Capsule 3 Laser projector, and for that this is perfect. After loading it up with content it had no problem recognizing it and playing files thru Android TV without any issue of hesitation. The only thing that could make this better is for Anker to update my projector so I can go back to using this with exFAT; fingers crossed. I highly Recommend this drive, based on its reasonable price, solid design, large size and blazing speed.
