> 24 hourAm so glad I bought this. My laptop has an internal mic that I could not disable so this did the trick. I am now able to plug in an external mic and the sound is great.

> 24 hourCompré 13 unidades de este producto que dice que es de ANDREA ELECTRONICS y recibí un producto que externamente es idéntico pero es de otro fabricante ANDREA COMUNICATIONS. Que puedo hacer? No son 100% compatibles pues el que recibí no funciona con RASPBERRY PI.

> 24 hourWorks well on windows. On OSX it has problems where it randomly inserts noise before sounds, or plays sounds slower than normal, or doesnt play them at all.

> 24 hourI bought this to facilitate hot-swapping my laptop computer... all my peripherals are plugged into a USB hub, so that docking/undocking involves only the HDMI video cable, the USB cord to the USB hub, and the power supply. For this purpose, it does the job. I cannot tell any difference in quality between this and the audio card built into the computer. I do note one downside. I dont know whether its a specific flaw in this product, or is endemic to USB sound cards. When theres no particular load on the computer, it runs fine; but if I put any significant demands on the computer, it will skip and sputter. This is not an issue with the speed of my system (Intel Core i7) or USB (3.0), but I suspect is an inherent weakness in using a USB sound card.

> 24 hourThe good: the thing works in all operating systems Ive tried. The bad: - I needed an external USB isolator to reduce static noise. - In both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Pro, the Andrea drivers would not install. - Related to the above, Andreas AudioCommander software would not work, bc it didnt recognize the device as being from Andrea. So either this thing is not so great in general, I got a bad one, or the seller is not actually shipping Andrea gear. Couldnt tell you which. Andrea support was useless. They did eventually return the extra $10 Id paid them for their software. Im done with these.

> 24 hourI use mine with a lavaliere microphone that has a 3.5mm mini-plug, to record training videos onto my laptop for work. I have tried similar devices including those by Sabrent (noisiest, and does not work at all on some laptops), Turtle Beach (worked on my older laptops, useless on new ones), Audio-Technica (an improvement, but still noisy) and Plantronics (OK). This one is the best, because of the noise reduction when recording -- theres still some hiss, but so little that its easily removed in Audacity or just ignored. My son also has one, which he uses as a headphone amplifier and it also works better with headphones than any similar device we have tried. So, between us we have found this the best choice for both sound in, and sound out, where USB is the best available interface but your listening or recording device has a standard mini-plug. Well worth the few extra dollars.
