This tape is much better for most automotive applications. But you do need to cut it, rather than just stretching it until it breaks.

Tape will leave an OEM look and also prevent the wire from making noise due to vibration.

Like the headline says, this is the best cloth tape I have ever used. As of late automotive manufactures use this tape a lot. I have found when you have to breach a wiring harness for a repair when you try to retape it the product is not very good. The adhesion is terrible and you typically have use some electrical tape over the end to keep it on the harnss. This tape is the real deal. The adhesion is tops and it forms very well. The harness I was taping was on an older vehicle but the repair I was doing left a necessary leader of wire. In the place it is in heat is a problem. This tape was perfect for the job. Super product. I will be buying more in the future.

I bought this to wrap some wiring and harnesses in my cars engine compartment where a rodent had started to chew (no damage to the actual wires yet). It is appropriately sticky which can make wrapping in tight spaces a bit of a hassle but nothing you can do about that. In addition to the effective coverage of the compromised wires, the mice seem to have no interest in it, which is an added bonus.
