We needed a weather-resistant ballbearing swivel mount to attach several Sky Chair(s) to the bottom of the deck joists near our pool. This item is overkill for my intended use, due to the chairs mounting hardware suggested weight limit is approx 350 lbs, so the 800lb rating on this mount will be more than adequate. I also used this item to hang an adult swing... this is a must-have when using the item to support the weight of at least two adults (IMO)! The bearings provide a smooth and very quiet experience, no more metal on metal squeaking during use, as with other non-ballbearing attachment options you get from the big box stores. I have only mounted the item to wood joists following the manufactures installation recommendations. The kit also provides the mounting hardware when attaching to masonry if thats your application, however, I can not speak to the holding power of the lag bolts because my attachment substrate was wood.

This is perfect for my swing. I originally just had a screw in bolt holding it in the beam. But people would spin and cause it to unscrew. This is what you want if you have a hanging swing. Very safe and holds tight.

These are great quality, and silent when swinging. I purchased two of these mounts. We used them on two chair swings in our family room. They are completely silent smooth and strong. I have tried a couple of different options for these swings. This is the first one that was perfect. Highly recommended. No problem with the pin as described in other reviews, but it is not a kids swing, its an adult hanging chair in a nice family room, so that may be the difference. No problems at all. (I did spray paint them to make them match the room decor)
