> 24 hourThese Brothlaw 5W LED bulbs can be used in several places besides a fridge and their cost could be easily recoup by the energy savings they provide. The regular incandescent bulb wastes energy. In the fridge it waste energy in two ways...when the bulb goes on and when the heat starts warming the fridge causing the compressor and fan to run longer. In the house lamps and fixtures by raising temperature in the summer. A 40W incandescent bulb consumes 40 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity every 1,000 hours and the 5W Brothlaw LED bulb consumes only 5 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity every 1,000 hours. The national average cost per kWh is 14.4 cents per kWh and in New York, where I reside is around around 23 cents and this month was 30 cents. In the summer it could go beyond 50 cents. Just going with the average here, it costs me $9.20 every 1,000 hours to run each of those little incandescent bulbs and just $1.15 (8x less) to run each 5W Brothlaw LED bulb. It might not be much if you have one of two, but when they are found in lamps, cabinets, recessed fixtures, etc.. it adds up quickly. These Brothlaw 5W LED bulbs are brighter than the 40W they replaced and also made the fridge look better.

> 24 hourWe have an app that measures our energy usage in real time. In our fridge, the old 40-watt bulbs were using approximately 75-80 watts every time someone opened the door. After I replaced them with these two new bulbs, the electric meter barely budged when I opened the door -- maybe 4-6 watts. This will likely save a ton of money over the course of their lifetime. They are LEDs, so they are much cooler/bluer than our old bulbs, but its not grating on the eyes like some of the new holiday lights. And Im less worried about this since they are only used when the fridge is open. Very happy with the smaller energy usage and they are nice and bright, illuminating the entire fridge. Highly recommend if youre looking to save a bit.

> 24 hourThe aging incandescent light bulb in our refrigerators freezer was starting to go on the fritz, so I ordered this two-pack of modern LED refrigerator bulbs. The package arrived tonight and I installed one of the LED bulbs in our freezer. Wow! The new bulb is stunningly brighter (and whiter) than the old bulb it replaced. I tried to capture this brightness in the photo that accompanies this review. The only question that remains in my mind is whether these newfangled LED bulbs can withstand the rigors of our subzero freezer for months and years. Well see. Ill update this review if we observe an early failure. Otherwise, Im impressed with these super-bright bulbs. Five stars!

> 24 hourThese LED bulbs are very small (A15 size) and are a perfect replacement for standard fridge and/or freezer bulbs. The plus side is that these bulbs do not get hot, so there is no risk of causing a fire if the door accidentally gets left open and something flammable happens to touch the bulbs. This actually happened to us once, and I immediately replaced all our bulbs with LEDs. Problem solved. They have a good brightness and clean color tone that looks very nice. I would definitely recommend these as they work very well and were very affordable.

> 24 hourWe moved into a new home and the previous owner was using bright white 65w lights in everything. It was very blinding. We replaced almost all bulbs with these and it’s so much better now. It’s a preference, really, whether you use warm white or bright white. Either way it brought our electricity bill down $90 switching to these.

> 24 hourThese are much smaller than I expected, but they do have a diagram the shows the measurements. I didnt play close attention. They look a little funny in my ceiling fan, but the 40-watt equivalent were too bright for the room and these do the trick...

> 24 hourThese LED bulbs are specially made for refrigerator/freezer temperatures, so the cold won’t break them. And they are built to last (running 3 hours a day, they are estimated to last over 20 years—longer than the fridge itself). These give off more lumens than other bulbs (the one I have in another fridge is 300 lumens; this one is 500), which makes it easier to see what you have in there. These LED bulbs will save you a bit of money. You’ve gone to the trouble of changing out your other bulbs. Don’t forget this one. And remember the extra fridge in the garage!
