    Very fast Very Inexpensive lens. crystal clear image quality, Bought it for shooting my young daughters youtube videos. We tried it out this weekend and I was blown away. This $100 lens makes our footage look like it was shot with a $10,000 studio camera.

    Absolutely a must have in lens collection for all in one casual photography. Absolute killer in terms of Landscape photography and casual Street photography with gorgeous Bokeh. Holds up pretty good for potrait too. In general a beautiful lens to have. Wish there were color options, thats my only disappointment.

    This Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens is awesome . If you’d like to shoot faster in low light, create images with an extremely shallow depth of field or replicate the focal length and central field of view of the human eye, you’ll want to add a 50mm prime to your wishlist. If you dont have this lens you are missing out.

    Original Canons nifty-fifty was already very good optically (I used to have both Mk I and Mk II of the 50mm f1.8 EF), but mechanical and AF shortcomings forced me to sell the lenses when I got a fast standard zoom (Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 OS) for my APS-C sensor camera, as pretty much redundant.

The wide f/1.8 aperture lets in more than 8x the amount of light compared to the standard zoom lens that is provided with your EOS. This results in sharper images with less motion blur and reduced need to use flash in dimly lit conditions so you can easily capture the atmosphere of a low light environment.
