> 3 dayI like the printer, but we aware that replacement ink is quite expensive - about $50 for both. They cannot be refilled and Ive found no generic replacement available.

> 3 dayIt gets the job done, but as someone in another review said, not without a ten minute drum solo first. Also, it seems to have issues printing from certain programs, such as Firefox web browser, for which it can randomly cause to crash.

> 3 dayI was one of the lucky ones who received this printer for free as part of a student deal at the Apple store where when you buy a laptop, you get a printer and iPod Touch for free. Best freebie ever. This has become one of my favorite printers and its been very reliable for me the past 5 years as an undergrad. Super fast at printing stuff so for someone who sometimes had to rush to get to class, it never failed me. As an artist, it scans and prints my pieces in pretty decent quality especially when printing from Photoshop. Good enough for what I need anyway. Also seems to be pretty conservative with ink since it took half a year with printing tons of stuff each day until I had to replace the ink cartridges. Even when it was on low ink, still was able to print out a couple of densely word packed, 50 page essays without an issue. Love this printer and its been working well with all my operating systems and Ive upgraded them at least 3 times so I have 3 different versions in the whole house and it works well with each of them without any bugs. Even after all these years, I still have it on my desk and hope it lasts me for at least another few when i have to go to grad school. Also we have an Epson and HP printers in the house that belong to my parents and they never were as reliable for me anyway as this one.

Greater than one weekThis photo printer does a great job. Seriously. People are surprised when I tell them I printed it on my home printer. I can tell the difference, but I do have to agree that the quality is far superior to what I would expect from such an inexpensive printer. The ink absolutely DOES disappear quickly, and that is my one complaint. I love everything else about this printer!

> 3 dayPros: Pretty good printer for the price. I needed an inexpensive printer with a small footprint to take along on RV trips and this one fits the bill. Price for ink is OK. Excellent copy funtion and very good scanning. Photo printing is OK but not as good as my MP610 with individual ink tanks and 1 picoliter print head. Cons: Looks like a roaster oven. No individual ink tanks for color. Very noisy. Construction a bit flimsy but fit and finish is good, like all Canon products.

Greater than one weekThis used printer came in good condition which was a wonder considering the box looked like it had been handled by a gorilla. The printer is working OK..... but, the problem is it came without the user guide and from China. The shipper knew it was going to America and it would have been nice if they had put it in to the English language. We have not tried real hard to put it in to English and Im sure that we will be able to do that. Just keep in mind that this can happen when your product is coming from a country other than America. Other than that one little problem, we are happy with our purchase. Thxs.

> 3 dayHave used this printer now for two years and it is still functioning well. Other than the usual complaints of high-cost ink and no faxing abilities, my only complaint (recently discovered) is that all functions shut down when the ink on this printer runs dry. For example, I need to scan a document into my computer. I ran out of ink yesterday and received an error from the printer. Even after shutting it off, the error is still there and I cannot override it to scan, despite the fact this doesnt require any ink. VERY INCONVENIENT, poor programming. Still, for the initial cost of this printer its a good deal, especially if you dont print all the time and are conservative with ink.

13-06-2025The Canon MP480 is a good all-in-one. It scans really well, prints well, and is easy to use. My only gripe is that it sucks ink like an old pickup sucks gas. The Canons XL size cartridge lasted a shorter time than the refill size on my old printer did. If you get this printer, my recommendation is to use it to print things you absolutely have to have at home and forget about printing photos. Photos will drain the cartridge dry in nothing flat.

> 3 dayI did not expect this printer to be this great because of the price. I did not think I would even use the scanner or copier but I have found many uses already. This is a well made printer and is easy to use. I highly recommend this product.
