no one has mentioned how thirsty this paper is,I tried acrylic paint pens ,water based metallic paint brush pens,and metallic watercolors and this paper drank it all up and the colors faded fast..leaving it dull,i dont know what to coat the paper with so it wont do this,but it prob isnt worth the effort..the prisma pencils look dull also on this paper,..its a let down,i will try gouache paint and acrylics on this paper maybe with better outcome..

I ordered a 9x12, knowing it would be slightly larger than my usual sketchbooks. However, I was quite surprised to stumble upon an 11x14 inch book instead. At first, I was confused and upset. Though, I began to look at it as a blessing, rather than a curse. Besides, the quality was as expected and it came fairly soon, so theres no big deal about a large than requested order. Ill just have to adjust to larger drawings.

I just started getting back into the art life, and I have fell in love with Canson. I just love LOVE their watercolor paper and thought Id give the black paper a try for pastels and gel pens. Its not as thick as their other paper but then again it is just black paper so it really gets the job done. I recommend it for pastels and gel pens. I will experiment with metallic paint later on but it is much more lightweight then their other types but I dont think black paper comes in heavy anyways so its perfect

Wonderful satin texture and the colors really pop. Smooth enough for detail work with just enough grit to take the color in. Great with pencil gel pen, craypas, and pastel; I use colored pencil and a fancy aquarell crayon. Not good with too much water but can take some paint; experiment I say. Also try both sides of the paper for all media to see which you prefer.

Paper seems great. Havent tried it yet. Its the same weight as the paper in a copic sketchbook. It says smooth but its more of a hybrid of vellum/smooth. Not smooth like copic sketchbook paper or a bristol board. Will try this and update on my review once Ive done my first piece.

The paper was all bent and ripped at the bottom.

It is really thin paper so if you use water on the paper the black with seep.
