I bought this bag without knowing really much about it other than reading the reviews on Amazon. I was taking a trip to Israel and wanting something versatile to take along. This bag has been tough and versatile and then some. I have packed it full with everything it will take. In fact so much stuff that it was heavy to carry by hand. This pack has handles to carry it vertically or horizontally, but also padded shoulder straps making it a backpack. You can zip it open like a regular suitcase. You can zip it up, strap it up very tightly, and stow the shoulder straps in their own zipper compartment so the bag has nothing hanging out if you want to check it at the airport. A separate zipper gives you an extra couple of inches of space should you need it. It has been on three very tough trips with lots of rough handling and supporting very heavy loads. The bag still looks almost new. Nothing has broken, zippers have not separated or come unstitched. Should anything happen to this one I will buy another one. Very pleased with this travel backpack.

Most backpacks that I had before, either came with bunch of different size sections and pockets which made it impossible to find what I was looking, or fewer sections, but if the thing I was looking for was at the bottom, I had to unload everything to get to it. This backpack solved both these flaws. It is built more like luggage suitcase than backpack, but it sits comfortable when carried as backpack. It has couple of pockets, for things like chargers or liquids, section that would fit laptop or something like that, and the rest of it is one big space for everything else. I just got back from our European trip where we moved 7 times between different hotels and apartments, and packing/unpacking this backpack really took very little time. Also because it doesnt have all of those useless sections and fancy pockets, it is very spacious. There is option to expand it, but I didnt have the need to do that. Materials used, stitching and zippers appear durable enough. So far I dont see any wear and tear issues. If you are flying budget airlines, obviously it is bigger than they allow to carry on for free, but in my experience they rarely measure if what I am carrying is reasonably small, and this backpack is reasonably small looking. So far I flew 3 times on budget airlines and it was fine. My ONLY complaint, it doesnt have a pocket for water bottle.

I’ve used this for weekend trips, and for a 2-week Europe trip. Lots of pockets and nice to be able to expand if needed!

Will report more later should I have issues with the bag while traveling. Firstly, the bag does NOT look like the ad photo -- it is essentially a floppy backpack with no rigidity to it whatsoever; the photo causes it to look like it is somehow reinforced throughout (or heavily starched -- grin). Impressed with the size (advertised 40L) & the expansion capability of the main compartment appears to be a plus. It has 4 zippered pockets on the outside -- 3 on the back & one on the lower inside of the pack against ones lumbar area when carrying it like a backpack. The materials are somewhat durable appearing & I anticipate upcoming travel experiences will reveal how well made the backpack/suitcase actually is.

This pack I just purchased does not have padding built in around the sides and in the front panel. The padding in the front inner panel and in the back are not as thick as my previous pack. The fabric of the pack is not quite as thick and tough as the previous pack. I really liked the size and design and function of my previous pack which is the reason I purchased this new one for my wife. I have to say I am very disappointed.

Getting anything online is a bit of a gamble, but this really paid off! Essentially, this is a small to medium sized, soft-sided suitcase with backpack straps. The straps can be tucked into their own pocket if you dont want them out. Where typical backpacks only open from the top (like a bag), this unit opens fully (like a suitcase) and is very easy to pack because of this. I spent a week living out of it and had room for six shirts, two pants, socks, underwear, slippers, chargers, headphone case and toiletries. Yes, I had to release the expansion clips to fit all that, but thats actually good that they give you the option to do so. There were enough pouches and pockets to keep things organized to. The straps are padded and never dug into my shoulders. Also the added handles around the thing were very useful. If I had to change anything, I might add wheels and a telescoping handle, but that would make it heavier and more difficult to store, so really this was about as close to perfect as luggage can get. Buy It!

This is about the fourth one I have ordered. ALL my friends and family absolutely love this bag. This is a must have for short or long trips. Worth every penny.
