Usually, when I have purchased other umbrellas, they have been disappointing every single time under those kind of weather conditions. I am extremely pleased with everything about this Coolibar umbrella. It feels sturdy, it definitely keeps you cool, and handles moderate windy days with ease.

> 3 dayIve had this umbrella for three years but have only used it a few times. Currently I am taking an antibiotic that causes sun sensitivity so I am using my Coolibar umbrella regularly for the past several days. The slide mechanism used to open and close it just snapped off. Now the only way to keep it closed is by holding it down while tightening the Velcro closure straps. For an otherwise nice umbrella, that essential piece is cheaply made and should be made of metal.

Greater than one weekJust a very, very well made piece of equipment. I live in sometimes windy Santa Monica California and plan to use it for the few rainy days we get. Its easily the strongest, most well-made umbrella Ive ever owned from the look of it. Im not planning to use it as a sun shade, but it certainly looks like it would work great in that capacity.
