I have worked with a variety of releases of the Painter program and my daughter had gotten to the age when she wanted to do graphics too. This daughter has artistic talent and she loves to be creative.

I wrote a review for this which somehow “disappeared.” So I’m writing it again.

This software allows you to turn your photographs into digital art, much like a very simplified app and turn your photos into paintings through their filters. The difference is, do you have control is in variety of brushes, styles, and options, all of which are fairly simple to use and straightforward. I appreciate the fact that there’s not much of a learning curve, and that you can control what you do with your image pretty effectively. Nice results, and fun to use once you get the hang of it!

Years ago I used Corel Paint and loved it so I thought it would be fun to try out this Painter Essentials 7 and I have to say that Corel has come a long way. So far Ive had a few issues but for the most part I am impressed with Painter 7. There was no issues on the Painter install and Ive only had a few glitches with the software its self to where it would freeze up during processing an image. I would have to force shut down the software and restart the same project to get it to finish rendering the project. I attribute that to the fact that my Windows 10 machine is about 5 years old and is need of an upgrade.

Ive been using this program with a drawing tablet, both of these things are completely new and foreign to me. I have very little experience in digital art so its been a pretty steep learning curve. Im an avid graphite and ink user so this is just really out of my element.

I found this somewhat easy to figure out and user friendly. It certainly loads up quickly on my laptop and simple step by step instructions. I prefer still having a disk rather than navigating a program purely online. I found it really cool to experiment with but I mainly use the photo art stuff. I also love turning images into animation. I’d like to illustrate my own children’s book. This is really great technology that is great quality. I feel it helps keep my aging brain stimulated. I feel I have great control of creativity with this and plan to use it a long time if my grandchildren don’t break my laptop. They like turning their photos into paintings and I feel it is a skill building tool for them.

I think everyone who would like to paint this program should be his or hers. Its fun to use and easy.

There are two types in this world - Adobe loyalists, and everyone else. If you are an Adobe loyalist, you have to have deep pockets and a love of power, and complex programs. Then, theres the rest of us. This product is made for us. Corels Painter Essentials gives you the ability to create stunning graphics, and evolve photographic images beyond the touchup stage.

This was my first attempt at using an art program like this and I have to admit I was a little overwhelmed. The features are out of this world and create some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. There is definitely a learning curve to this, but if you are willing to invest the time to learn how to use this to its maximum potential, the results would delight.

I shouldve looked deeper into reviews before I got this. It wouldnt download onto my windows HP..it would either take hours just to get to 27% or it would stay at 0%. When I looked up ways to get it to work you had to literally shut off all of your computers protection which was weird. I sent it back and got a different one from best buy (ultimate paintshop pro 2021)..just for it to have the exact same program on it..I had to message customer support to get it to download. They had me shut all my protection and administrator stuff off. It did download and its a decent program but kinda wishing I went with something else with a bit more options to it.
