I borrowed a friends trailer, but his saftuy chain was really UNsafe! I decided to replace his cjhains with these safety cables, which i have on all my trailers. They stay off the road, with NO dragging and do not bind when backing or turning. Safety and convenience!

This was a very easy install, took about 5 minutes total, including removal of the old broken cables. I like how they are curled so the dont drag the ground when unhooked in the garage.

Bought these to replace the 23 year old, rusty, about to fail safety cables on my trailer for my 23 Sea Ray boat. I also replaced the OE bolt with a grade 8 bolt, washers, lock nut and have full confidence in this new set of cables. Easy to install, seem to be high quality.

These cables are the perfect substitute for safety chains on any pulled trailer. They eliminate chain dragging on the road, so they dont wear through. They also keep tension on the hooks so they wont fall off. The curly cord effect keeps the safety cable out of harms way and makes sure they are ready for use when you need them. I own several trailers that I rent out and these have eliminated my need to replace chains that someone didnt hook up correctly and dragged on the ground.

Use these on our JetSki trailer (total of 3.1k pounds weight. Far batter than chain and despite what other reviewers have stated, they are the length indicated. I think those reviewers just do not understand the concept behind these cable units and/or remove stars because they did not measure beforehand. No slack and enough give to allow safe turns. Well made and I like them better than the Reese units.

No matter how far you are planning to drive -- down the street or across the state -- using safety chains when you tow is smart, safe and required by law. Without safety chains attached, there is a serious risk of danger if your trailer becomes uncoupled from your trailer hitch. Play it safe with safety chains, and play it even safer with safety chains from CURT. CURT has a few different options when it comes to securing your trailer. An alternative to traditional safety chains is CURT safety cables. Safety cables are a medium-duty safety option and are very effective for most standard trailers. CURT safety cables are coiled so they do not drag on the ground, and they are fitted with safety latches, instead of S-hooks, to prevent them from becoming unhooked even over bumps and rough roads. One unique feature of CURT safety cables is their vinyl coating. Being coated in a vinyl skin keeps these cables well protected from rust, reduces the amount of noise they make and makes them easier to handle. These particular safety cables offer a minimum break force of 7,500 lbs. and measure a total length of 42".In our book, making safety a priority when you tow is a must. We offer all the safety equipment needed for successful towing, from our electrical components to our safety chains. The next time you hitch up for an adventure, always Bring It safely with CURT.
