I like video editing as a personal hobby creating some vacation videos whenever I have time and Im not an expert by any means. Ive used several video editors from PC, OSX based to mobile video editing apps. Ive been using PowerDirector 365 in the last year and Im assimilated into its processes. Its powerful and relatively easy to navigate and use its features. I can say that Power Director is one of the best editing software currently available now. The menus are intuitive and user friendly. I really like how the menus are arranged and accessible. At first, it can be overwhelming to see the many available features of this app. The way I approached to learn is to google and search YouTube for tutorial videos and theres a LOT out there. If youre a beginner, start with something basic as adding videos and transitions. Learning layers is important if youre already getting comfortable with menu navigation. Then the more exciting part of adding texts, background music, adding a voice over and special effects will be on your action list. So getting this Ultimate version vs 365 vs Ultra is a hard decision. It really depends on what you value as they offer very similar feature set. The main benefit of the PowerDirector 365 is you get all the up to date premium plug ins and effects, you get 8 in Ultimate, 6 in Ultra. For some people like me, who only occasionally edit videos, Ill prefer getting either the Ultra or this Ultimate edition so that I only have to pay one time. If youre editing videos all the time then maybe the 365 is better for you as it offers a lot more in terms of plug ins and effects. Installation Theres an option to download the installation file. Install file is not in the CD disk anyway, just the Cyberlink Application Manager app. Now, I can say that this latest offering from Cyberlink is so far the best video editing out there offering many features and theyre easier to implement. The learning curve is not that bad and theres a lot of video tutorials in youtube that helped me go through the feature set one by one.

Thats because it has a really good balance of useful, very powerful features and ease of use. Of course, there is a learning curve with using ANY video editor, but Cyberlink helps out as much as they can with the logical workflow incorporated into their User Interface. The tools are grouped together in a way that makes sense, and effects, transitions, correction tools, titles, and the many more additional features that this software provides are highly customizable to get just the look that you envisioned in your mind! There are a lot of built-in transitions and effects also. Probably the hardest thing to using the software is to learn to show restraint, as with so many great choices of effects its tempting to overdue it. But the power and versatility is definitely there to enable truly professional-quality results that you can be proud of. For those that are new to NLE (non-linear editing, which is what this package offers). Cyberlink has a ton of free online tutorials and videos to teach anyone how to access Power Directors tools. Ive been using version 16 of this software, and Im really excited to try out some of the new features, such as the AI motion detection and object tracking. Im also really glad that support for 3D videos and slideshows is still incorporated into this latest version. Although interest in 3D video content has waned quite a bit over the past couple of years, I still really love it (I have a 3D camera, so Im so happy that Ill still be able to create slideshows of my favorite 3D photos). Also, it appears that the code in version 21 has been optimized in general, as it definitely seems much snappier to use than my old version. Definitely worth a try for those who want to try an editing package thats perhaps more powerful than others they have tried in the past; or who want to get into video editing for the first time - whether it be for family videos, content creation for video sharing sites, or just for personal fun and gratification. The tools in Power Director 21 Ultimate can help bring your imagination to life, and there are a TON more resources that you will have access to than just those that come in the box, such as effects and templates created and shared by other users. Power Director is definitely an excellent choice in the world of video editing software packages!

I have been a user of CyberLink power director for a bit, departing form Adobe PS after they fraudulently deactivated my personal Adobe-purchased PS cs6 in order to force a paid-subscription. As for this product, if youre like me, and want to actually OWN what you purchase, be sure to get the DISK version because CL ONLY allows for a digital download for 12 months and I believe that may have now changed to 30 days! You must be sure to create an account if you do opt for the digital copy because in my experience with CL, I was able to contact customer support when I upgraded to a new system and needed to reinstall powerdirector. I opted to just purchase the latest sortware with the disk, so theres NO HASSLE of a reinstall!

It seems for all the desirable features you need to subscribe regardless of the fact of “buying” this.

I got this software because our store wants to start a youtube channel and it will be very necessary to be proficient at editing and using special effects. This will be the mother of all learning experiences because I am coming to it with very limited experience at this. But my desire (maybe desperation) to learn is huge, so I will. My plan is to watch every tutorial I can find that guides step-by-step and then fly with it. There are many out there, so maybe see you next year with some updates. In the meantime, I have investigated the potential of this particular software and I think it is the best Ive seen in its price range. If later on I find I need something with more bang for the buck, I will know where to spend that buck. For now, this is a good way to start.

Cyberlinks PowerDirector 21 Ultimate 2 disc software comes with an installation guide and the product key to activate the installation. If you dont have a CD or DVD drive, thats OK because theres also a link for a digital download using the included product key. I have Windows 11 and several empty GB on my laptop, so installation was quick and easy. It didnt auto-load, but it was easy to follow the instructions to navigaye in Windows File Explorer to launch the install on Disk 1, then later, bonus content on Disk 2. So far all Ive done is create a simple 10 minute slideshow from a recent family vacation. The user interface is fairly intuitive, but there are also links to learn more about the software online. Within the software, theres a user manual and a help question mark to search for topics. I definitely intend to use this for video editing and more projects, but only had time to make a 10 minute long slideshow before reviewing. I like the software and would recommend it.

I have used iMovie to edit video for years. I have been looking for some time, an affordable alternative that could offer more features. This offers soooo much more than I could even ask for. The tutorial videos are incredibly helpful. The digital install was a breeze. The software is intuitive and pretty simple to pick up with the video guides. If you have never ever used any video editing software it may take some time to catch on. But definitely worth it! Great bang for your buck.

Ive been playing around with this software for about a week now, editing some of my gaming videos within it. I like that its relatively lightweight -- allows me to do all of the things that I can do, and obviously, since I own it, theres not worry of watermarks or anything else with it. It seems to be designed for anyone to jump into and use - but really aimed at content creators (think social media creators) since there are a lot of options around that. Making it easy to create a TikTok or Reels video. You can start with a template or go right into the editor, which I like, gearing towards repeat users doing specific things. The templates seem to work great and there are also lots of tutorials on their program, which Ill probably dig into. Overall, Im pleased with this - I wanted to try it in comparison to some of the other offerings Ive tried over the years and as of right now it doesnt feel like its missing anything but Ill report back if anything pops out to me.

This program is easy to use for beginners. You are able to do more effects. Alot of help from different places.
