Update 4-16-20: Been using for over 16 months now, still works great, very happy with purchase and much cheaper than new! original: Bought this refurbished to connect my work laptop to my multiple monitor setup at home. easy set up, supports HDMI or VGA connections, multiple USB ports - very happy.

For the first time, I purchased a renewed product from Amazon. Upon receiving, it appeared new and worked perfectly. After less than six months, it has randomly started to either disconnect entirely (no charging nor connection to other devices through the dock) or it simply won’t project to my second screen. It’s definitely not the computer as it works perfectly with my dock at work.

To hook up work computer to 3 screens at home like at work

When the unit first arrive, the end of the USB-C connector was a bit crushed. I was able to bend it back with a screwdriver and the dock worked great for a few months. However, the cable is definitely the weak point as it has started cutting out intermittently. The good news is, the cable is removable. The bad news is, its a proprietary connector that Dell wont sell you separately and you cannot find anywhere. Similar cables for other docks are available for sale, but those cables despite having the same connectors and dimensions have metal pins that prevent them from being used. This is terrible design and the type of anti-owner practice that shows why we need Right to Repair legislation.

Has decent amount of ports including the ancient VGA for monitors. My only con is they do not last as long as other docks Ive had in the past. Had to replace twice in 2 years.

Working like a charm. Powering the laptop, monitor, keyboard& mouse - everything is working. Great deal.

Power supply was faulty. The power plug into the dock was extremely crusty and hard to get out likely from some sort of corrosion. Randomly decides not to work. Would recommend just buying new

I dont know whether the problem was due to it being refurbished or just a product design, but I couldnt get this station to drive two monitors at 1080p resolution. If I only connected one monitor (either through HDMI or DP) it was fine and operated at full resolution, so it wasnt a cable or monitor problem. But the moment I connected monitors to both of these ports simultaneously, one was full resolution and the other capped out at 1366x768. All the other ports worked as expected. So if you only want to use one external monitor, this would be perfect.
