> 3 dayOkay everybody, I am not one to write a review, but after seeing everything that has been written about this product, I decided I must write a review. A lot of people, have been bad mouthing the fact, that you have to verify your student status to receive the serial number from Nuance. I can tell you now, for all of you who have a .edu address, this will not be a challenge whatsoever. I received my Dragon NaturallySpeaking, from UPS about an hour ago. Within that time, I did the online verification of my student status, received my serial number, install the program, and I am now writing this review I using my headset and my Dragon NaturallySpeaking. One recommendation I would strongly make, is that you invest in a better headset. I invested in the Koss CS 100 headset is thus far everything is working very clearly. I spent about 20 min. reading some of the documentation that they give you to learn your voice. In that short period of time, you see the results. As a graduate student, who is often writing anywhere between 20 and 60 pages a week of text this is going to be a lifesaver. I hope many of you will be able to make the same investment.

> 3 dayThis is a fantastic program. It can open doors, not only to the disabled, but to people from all walks of life. We can think much faster than we can write, or type. This program helps to corral, and then organize our thoughts. Im using it for school right now, but who knows? I might write a book later. I never saw myself as an author, but this program makes it possible. Now that I am able to write it, it will be up to the population to see if they are interested in what I have to say. Every child, and student, should have this program.

> 3 dayThe product arrived quickly and in very good packaging. Dragon loaded quickly. This version works much better/fewer errors in voice recognition than older versions. Id recommend buying.

> 3 dayI bought this only to transcribe taped interviews for a class project. I trained the program with my voice at least 3 times. The transcripts that resulted were just absolute nonsense, they were not even remotely similar to the actual conversations. I expected some confusion, maybe confusing There for Thier and stuff like that, but the sentences were just gobbletigook. If thats what youre planning on using this for, dont do it, its a waste of your money.

> 3 dayThe software is great from what Ive seen of others using it at school. The verification process is completely lame. Seriously, two days for verification even with a school email address and school id that you have to scan and send to them. I have used many educational versions of software, they have all been reasonable to validate. Even $1500 CAD software was usable within minutes. Almost worth paying full price.

> 3 dayI lost the use of my right arm/hand half way thru a collage semester. I purchased DNS to dictate and control my computer so that I would not have to drop my courses and continue school. Activating the Academic version is quick and easy with a valid approved institution e-mail address. The software is a bit taxing on computer resources. I recommend installing on a new Windows 7 PC with 4 gig or Ram to benefit from all the features. Although, It preforms well on one of my XP computers with only 1.5 gig of RAM. DNS adapts quickly to your voice and constantly learns to improve accuracy, the hardest part is learning how to talk what you want to type.

> 3 dayIts OK for general use but I has a specific use for it. I wanted to read numerical grades and have it in numbers in Excel. It is a bit slow, and certain numbers dont seem to come out. Even after repeating it several times it still does not appear. As for general text wtiting it seems OK. Any suggestions?

13-06-2025Im Aiden and Im not a native English speaker. Just bought a copy of DNS Premium 11 few weeks ago. DNS was able to listen to what I have to say, after some initial training. I would say the time youre going to put into the initial training is very important. Ive registered myself at Nuance website, and their staff was replying to my questions, feedbacks in a very fast and good manner! So all in all, I got the value out of what Ive been paying for. I love DNS 11 so much, it ease out my pain on wrist and arm. Im not used to it yet, so whenever I want to try to correct something or talk to DNS about a command, it doesnt understand it. But overall, this is a very good software to be used. If youre a native English speaker, and you speak good English, and you have a lot of things to be typed out, then you would really want to grab a copy of DNS. Aiden Chong
