> 3 daySince these are not HSS, they would struggle to tap new threads into ferrous material, but they work great to chase damaged threads in steel or cast iron. They would although work well to cut new threads in softer materials. They are nicely machined, sharp and come in a nice wooden box.

> 3 dayActual product (Taps/Tools) work well. Too bad the wooden storage box was shipped in a cheap USPS bag! Storage box was in about 8 pieces after USPS got done playing football with it! Should have been in a box!

> 3 dayMost tap kits are only for machine bolts, course or fine thread. This kit is pipe thread and includes the most common industrial NPT fittings. I mostly work in steel, stainless steel and brass and these are Ideal for repairing threads. I would be careful trying to cut new threads but I would assume that the kit is plenty hard enough.
