Greater than one weekI really enjoyed this book and its premise. What WOULD happen if you turned an animal, ANY animal really, into a human without warning? How would the animal think? React? Would it eventually come to find its human body in some ways superior to its animal one, or would it always want to turn back into its former self? What if it was a domestic animal such as a dog or, as in this case, a horse? Would it still carry that love for its master? Could its master accept its new form? Would something more form? Just a few questioned spawned by the first half of this book. The second half was no less exciting to read, but it was mostly your standard sword and sorcery. Lady/Jess was such a great and compelling character. The other characters were mere satellites around her, even Carey. I loved this book and look forward to reading the next in the series.

> 3 dayAs a horse lover, I appreciate the way the author carefully crafts in believable horsie behavior in the character, regardless of Jess/Ladys external appearance. This is the first book in a trilogy, but it is complete in itself. You WILL want to read more and get the other two books to continue with Jess/Ladys adventures.

> 3 dayI found Dun Ladys Jess (The Changespell Saga) by Doranna Durgin an unforgettable story. It is so unusual, it really gets the imagination going and I could not put it down. I had to get the second book in this series and found it just as good as this book.

> 3 dayI think it is fair for me to say that with my very busy life, I am still reading it. I am finding it to be original, imaginative, surprising, an enjoyable read. A very refreshing change from the run of the mill obsession with murder that seems to plague most authors nowadays. I might submit a more complete review later on.

> 3 dayThe character development runs deep. Amazingly detailed development of Jess. Having horses myself, I found her portrayal of horse turned woman realistic and compelling. A must reed for anyone who loves horses and likes fantasy.
