    This is a great product for the price, got a new laptop without DVD drive, bought this and it is really a good one; slim, light-weight, fit perfectly in the side pocket of my laptop sleeve, easy to use-just plug in and has a C is a plus, because my new MacBook doesnt have type A USB. Would recommend.

    Ripped some cds with it. Plug it in to save you some trouble. Worked once without a plug in connection. Kept hearing a click. Plug in and the click goes away. Took me a while to realize that. C type to plug in. Usb in the front I think is 2.0. One on the side is 3.0. Will take a while to copy say music files in the 10G size. Was trying to get to a flash drive. Acts as a hub too but not a fast one that is convenient. Seems difficult with win 10 but loads driver and need to plug it in to a seperate power plug, then works well.

    I’m not that techy so I don’t know the technical terms. What I do know is that my work laptops are super outdated and for some reason Microsoft decided to take out the app that allows old laptops to use the disk reader, I guess it’s been a while. Our IT guy suggested I buy this external DVD drive, works great and now I can play some educational programs on there again.

    the first one the disc drive was not connected inside ate least nothing happened when pressing the eject button.. Amazon sent me a replacement and works Great! I have an HP EliteDesk G5 Mini, so I needed a SD Card Reader for for loading videos on youtube or Facebook, also have an Audio Bible I have not been able to listen to that now I can Copy to my computer I want to get JRR Tolkiens books on Audio Disc because they where written to tell the Bibles story in another way (what Tolkien told CS Lewis) so can do that now also also still have items that have apps stuck on disc in order to work even my Wifi Card and Microscopes

Please Pay Attention:

- Before using external disk drive, please make sure your computer has "Media Player". For playing software, please download free software: VLC media player or Kmplayer. For burning software, please download free software: Nero.

- This drive can read and write CD but only read DVD.

- If you connect it to a USB hub or extender, it could not be recognized or unable to read the CD/VCD

- The data cable is on the back of the CD/DVD drive. For Mac OS, use the mac command to eject disc.

- For desktop PC, please connect the external cd/dvd drive for laptop to the back-end USB interface, because the front-end USB port of the PC extends outward and the power supply is insufficient.

- Please must set region code to #1 to play USA discs. (Device Manager> Right-click DVD/CD Rom> Properties> Area)

- If your devices don"t have enough power to support the external CD drive, it’s better to use an external power adapter to increase the power.

- If you use the dvd/cd drive on PC, it’s better to plug the drive into the back end interface for more strong power supply.
