> 24 hourThe squares are a bit smaller than I use, and the film is hella glossy. However, its as close to the old school photography I did as a kid as I can get - perhaps better - and Im just loving it. Yeah, people probably wonder why a photographer with 40 years under their belt can be excited about some kids toy - and those people dont know why photography exists. Thanks to all the Gen Y? Z? alpha? kids out there, who have brought film back. Im thrilled to see all these new films out.

> 24 hourThis Instax Wide film works with the Fuji Instax Wide camera and the new stand-alone printer (a brilliant device - well worth looking into). It is essentially the original Polaroid instant film, and to my eyes at least, Fuji have improved the picture quality. Images are vibrant, sharp and detailed. The finished pictures have a semi-gloss surface. There is a broad area at the bottom of the picture surround which accommodated the pods containing the developing chemicals. This is all well and good, but I cant help wondering why Fuji chose to base new hardware on such an antique technology. OK, it works; and if it isnt broke, why fix it? But I always considered the rival product that Kodak developed, and for which they were successfully sued by Polaroid for patent breaches, was a superior product. A giant like Fuji could surely have advanced the concept.
