> 3 dayThis is a really durable and beautiful external hard drive. It seems like it could be plugged in and be 99% waterproof and 99.999% dust proof. It is relatively fast for file transfers with Windows 10. It uses USB 3.0 with a unique cable that has USB C on both ends and a USB C to USB 3.0 adapter. It was working great for about three months and then suddenly, without moving it or changing the USB port it disappeared from Windows Explorer--even though the light on it is on indicating it is powered. I changed the USB port it is plugged into on the PC and it came back. Ive read other reviews about MACs where they can no longer see it. So, Im going to move data off of it and not rely on it any longer. It is about three months since I bought it so it is too late to return it for a refund so STBM caveat emptor to you.

> 3 dayWorks really well. Whisper quiet. Does not get hot. Computer shows you have a full 5tb. The cables that with it DO NOT fit into an thunderbolt port on 2013 iMac or MacBook Air. I thought it was thunderbolt but I don’t think it is. This is USBC and USB 3. That’s it.

> 3 dayI’m an animator and use a lot of drive space and I move data everywhere including across my Intranet to bigger NAS drives. I use 20+ different programs between Mac and PC so this drive was perfect. This has become my PORTABLE working drive for my Macbook. I partitioned it with a 25% PC and a 75% MAC partition (the Mac can do this) so I can run Native Mac apps with it, but also transfer files To and From my PC. The Mac can use both partitions and the PC only sees the PC partition. Its fast and I’ve off loaded a lot of data from my Macbook freeing up space and I have all of my PC files at my fingertips with tons of free space left over.

15-06-2025I thought the first time I was the one who did something wrong but no. This drive is NOT compatible with Mac products. I’m stuck with it now because I waited too long to use it.

> 3 dayI was looking for a drive for my 2019 macbook pro. The G-Tech drive looked good because it was large. I do audio so I needed a large drive. I purchased the G-Tech 4TB ATD drive. I transferred all the files I needed to it and started working. After a week, the drive would not mount. it was not recognized in disk utilities and could not repaired. SUCKS! I decided to return the drive and I opted for the 5TB ATD. After the same process of uploading everything i needed to the drive, it worked fine for 2 weeks. Then one day I left my computer unplugged and my computer went off while the drive was connected. When I turned the computer back on the drive was not recognized. I WILL be returning this 2nd drive and I wont be purchasing another one 2 failures and lost work is enough for me I wouldnt do it.

> 3 dayThis thing is amazing! Quiet and FAST, reliable file transfers n 125Mb/sec transfers on an older machine where USB 3.0 had to be tricked into working (thats a separate and long story that really doesnt matter.) Silent running - no fan? How is this possible?! I would definitely buy again - highest of recommendations!
