Honda civic LX 2004 doesnt fit my car.

Read all of this to see the one dangerous issue! I found installation instructions on youtube. It was difficult to get out the little panel that gives access to the screw holding the cover in. It got a little damaged but its not visible so that was not critical. Exposing the connector was not hard but treat wires carefully and gently when you cut the tape to access the connector. Snap on the fob reader box and reconnect the battery. Follow the video closely! But there is one weird issue which potentially could give you trouble. After opening the locks with the fob they frequently automatically re-close after say 10 to 20 seconds. So if you somehow left fob and keys in car you could be screwed! The solution to this is to use the master lock control switch inside the drivers door to signal all locks to open (even if they are open with fob) If you do this they dont relock automaticlly. But for safety hang on to that fob.

Bought it for my 2003 Honda CRV LX. Amazing how fast it went in. Simply remove the console below the radio, plug it in to the wire marked with blue tape, program it, and presto! My car was NOT equipped with power door locks before, no other parts were needed.

It took less than 1 minute to install, no joke. A+++

The original one from when the vehicle was new stopped working some time ago. This one plugged in and was working in 2 minutes. I am glad I got the one with new key fobs, as they were already paired and worked immediately. The old ones did not want to pair but I dont really need them. The Book says they are for a CR-V, and have an extra trunk button that is non functional, but the lock, un-lock and panic buttons work perfectly.

And it works! I have a 2005 Honda Element EX and after following the instructions from one of the top comments, I finally have a keyless entry! Super easy and no issues.
