> 3 dayI purchased this to help gauge surface temperatures on a new gas stove when cooking with cast iron. I was finding it difficult to determine smoke points using various oils by manual adjustment. Trying to improve the accuracy of my cooking, I want to add the ingredients to the pan within a tight range of the right temperature. I purchased this as it appeared to have good features at a great price. I have only tested it twice but seemed to provide fairly consistent results both times. I will update the review and the accuracy rating as I gain experience, good or bad. But it is very simple to use (point and click so to speak) and results are easy to read obviously. Seems like a great value.
