These bags are great! A little bigger than 5x7, but thats perfect for me.

3.1mil? More like 1.3mil... this is thinner than dollar store sandwich bags. Would not recommend

Several of my bags where sealed shut on top of zipper. I had to cut the top edge to open baggies..... not the best ziplock seal but it was Ok. Quite a few woyld still open after sealed.

Not 3 mil. Maybe .3 mil. Thinner than a sandwich bag. Ok for stickers not for small hardware kits which is what they were needed for

These bags are very light weight plastic. My caliper measures 3 mil for the outside of the bag, face to face, so material thickness is 1.5 mil, not 3 mil.

Just what I needed for a large project. Sometimes a bit difficult to open the bag yet very secure after.

The industry standard for measuring plastic bag thickness is to measure the thickness of a single layer of the bag. In other words, the thickness of the bag is the thickness of the sheet that it is made from. Joybest has claimed that the bags they sold me are 3.15 mil (which would be .00315) because if you measure the two layers of the bag, its .00315. However, they dont even meet their own made-up standard; two layers of the bag measure .00245 (.0017 per layer). I have a supply of bags labeled 2 mil that measure .0027. Theyre over twice as thick as Joybests 3 mil bags. What they have done is advertised a 3 mil bag and then delivered a 1 mil bag. When confronted, instead of offering a refund, or to bill appropriately for 1000 1 mil bag, they came up with this ridiculous defense. Im not going to waste anymore time on this. Its $40 and Ive already spent far to much time on this.

Honestly I was a little disappointed with these bags. They are much thinner plastic than I expected or hoped for. Many of the bags came folded with a crease because of the way they are jammed into a large ziploc-style package for shipping. I find that once they are a zipped shut and you try to open them, the top grab-edges of the bag start to stretch because the zipping mechanism is stronger than the durability of the plastic. So Im going to look for something thicker for my purposes.
