2006 Dodge Charger Trunk Easy to install with the self adhesive. Use a roller to make sure its applied correctly. Live in Hawaii where its 85⁰ out. Went on easy, easy to cut, trim and mold around all the joints. Sound test after and the obnoxious rattle from the sub is gone. Used 1 box of the 50 sq ft 50mm Kilmat, completely covered the Trunk and 2 or 3 layers in trouble spots. Definitely going to be ordering more.

Ive built motors, done extensive bodywork and made all kinds of modifications to vehicles. Sound deadening is by far my favorite. The install isnt fun by metric. First, uninstall your entire interior. Clean the inside of every panel with isopropyl alcohol. Grab a rolling pin (they make specific tools for this), cut your acoustic mat and be prepared to spend the next 8 hours in a sweaty and cramped position. Cover every square inch you can- it really does make a difference. Put in the hours here, and enjoy it for the rest of your vehicles ownership. Not only does this make your ride quieter, but it feels more luxurious, too, since the deadening material has the additional effect of quieting down interior trim rattles. My old Ford Ranger is now quieter on the highway than my BMW 5 series (seriously!). The 50mil Kilmat is not the thickest option, but it is an outstanding value when Dynamat will sell you the same basic product (foil-layered tar) for twice the price.

One box was more than enough to do an El Camino, including the smugglers box and ceiling. Easy to work with, but it will dull a scissors quickly so he was a good one.

***update*** I updated rating from 1 star to 4. The smell was faint but did seem to go away. Car is in garage and hasnt been exposed to sunlight yet, but hoping there is no smell. So based upon reviews I decided to purchase the 50 mil x 50 sf package. My main concern prior to purchasing was a chemical / asphalt smell, and most people stated there was zero smell. Well, thats not true at all, there is an asphalt smell. I havent even peeled the liner off and I can smell asphalt coming off the sheets. After spending hours scraping off the old sound deadener and prepping the panels, do I really want to stick on this stuff? Also had a bad experience in the past using Fatmat about 10yrs ago, and that smell never entirely went away and was extremely strong after installation and actually gave me headaches for weeks. That purchase was also made based upon price. So now, trying to decide if I should send this back or not. Im leaning towards sending back, I cant deal with that situation again Id rather just spend a little more and get a real true high quality Butyl product instead of asphalt. You get what you pay for....

Easy to apply. Works as well as higher priced butyl sound deadener. Make sure to use a roller for best results.

Best bang for your buck... I was skeptical at first due to the thickness. Despite the thickness, Im very impressed with the Kilmat. So far, Ive only completed the for board and the difference it has made is undeniable. Its easy to install... Remember, Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. The adhesive is quite sticky, BUT if you handle gently and carefully it will not stick to everything when trying to apply it. When applying, if you mold it as you go. It goes on Like Butta. As for the quantity... For my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, 50sqft was more than enough for the front and rear floorboards so now Im going to do the sides and perhaps the roof.
