Klipsch RP-500M Bookshelf Speakers (Pair) (Ebony)

Recently got a pair of RP-500Ms at a newer clearance price point to compare against a couple of my other favorite speakers - Energy RC-10 & Klipsch RP-150M. All feature ~ 5 woofers and 1 metal tweeters (titanium) in a horn, Klipsch, or (aluminum) in a waveguide on the Energy. To my ears the RP-500Ms mids and treble sound SLIGHTLY more refined and detailed than through the RP-150Ms. Almost a wash. If youre on the fence, the RP-150M sounds just about as good as the RP-500Ms. The RP-500Ms are almost the equal of the RC-10s. However, the Energys just sound smoother and more full bodied across the musical spectrum regardless of genre. Too bad Voxx International, the parent company of both Klipsch and Energy, doesnt seem to be focused on refining/marketing the Energy brand. Again, in my opinion only, the Energys exceed either Klipsch model regarding sound and construction quality. The RC-10s are finished in real wood veneer. Klipsch are finished with wood look vinyl. Energy RC-10s take the cake. March, 2023 Update-I bought into the overly positive online hype and chatter surrounding the RP-600Ms. Bigger is better, right? Not quite. The 600Ms sound flabby and unbalanced compared to the well balanced 500Ms. Promptly returned the over hyped Speaker Of The Year 600Ms.

Punchy bass, clear vocals, pretty and all of that at amazing price!

These surround sound speakers are a lot bigger than I thought. I’m so Happy I bought them. They have a really incredible sound and a beautiful wood finish!

These speakers just do everything right. The bass is tight and clear. Although I have a subwoofer, I dont need one. Mid range and treble are also excellent. I listen to all genres of music at all volumes and the speakers simply do not care. Bring it on, they said. Their versatility is enough for 4 stars, alone, the 5th star is for the fact that they just sound so damn good. Soundstaging is also great. I listen to a lot of live classic rock albums and these speakers make me feel like a spectator in a floor seat. They flawlessly handle bass-heavy rap, acoustic country, classical music, heavy metal, and of course classic rock. My friends have openly expressed jealousy over not owning these, themselves. I would strongly recommend these to anyone. Stop scrolling and just buy them.

I wish I had ordered the 600s though!

They perform great. I mostly drive them using a class D amp from Fosi Audio and they sound great. The times I have hooked them up to the AVR...they are even more spectacular.

Klipsch makes premium speakers and these are no exception to the rule. I use them for my back surround speakers attached to my Denon S750H. WOW!!

This pair of speakers will thrill you. Ive been a big fan of Klipsch for decades and I ugraded to this pair without any regrets! My 75 year old father couldnt believe his ears....he sat on my couch for hours listening to blues, jazz, C&W and classic rock through my Amazon HD subscription and thought he had gone to music heaven.....I agree. Maybe not the MOST dynamic Klipsch speakers compared to some of the larger floor models but certainly high quality, beautiful sound and easy to place in our home theater.

I bought these Klipsch bookshelf speakers to use in my sound studio workspace for streaming music on SiriusXM and using as alternate speakers for test mixes. I paired them with a David Hafler P3000 power amp and a Rotel preamp and I am totally blown away by how good these sound. My workspace is small and these were a perfect fit. The mids are nice and warm with crisp and focused highs paired with a perfect bass response for classical, jazz and chill music. Listening now as I am writing this review and amazed at the detail and separation.
