Little pricey but is a good filter. Have seen the you tube videos where they cut different brand filters in hlaf and this one was tied with first on filter medium and construction. If you have vehicle where its darn near impossible to reach the filter body to install a wrench (of any kind) the built in 1 nut on the bottom of the filter is blessing.

I started using wrench off K&N filters years ago when I saw that I could get them for basically half the price on Amazon as if I went to a parts store. Before I bought any, I read comments about how they would leak or the seal would bust etc. but I also read so many positive reviews that I decided to try them out myself. I now have my whole family and my boyfriend exclusively using these filters. The key is that they are very specific in their title. They are wrench OFF not on. You still only need to hand tighten these or they will leak because the nut at the top will be compromised. K&N filters are also great to use for harder to reach areas. We definitely learned this with my first car where the filter was up on the front of the engine, but the car was so compact that trying to get the filter from the top or the bottom was a feat. Buying K&N made my dad’s job 100x easier when he could just put a wrench up there and get it off with ease. I will probably never switch to another brand.

My Tahoe has a hard to reach oil filter this makes it a lot easier to get on and off.

got a good quality filter to use with synthetic oils ,,,this is a good one last for 5000 to 6000 miles

High quality synthetic oil filter.

Not thrilled, its just ok. I bought this filter after years of using the Mobil 1 filter to go with the synthetic oil. Main reason? The 1 wrench nut helps get it off...without it pulling the filter is a headache. After removing the first K&N today after 6,000 or so miles, I was surprised to see how much oil had leaked around the edge of the gasket and down the outside of the filter. Not enough to be a concern, but Ive never had that happen before. Getting the new one on took about 20 minutes for some reason. It was almost like it was cross threaded, Ive never had that much trouble getting a new filter on in 15 years of oil changes. I was just about to quit and it magically went in suddenly. I might go back to the Mobil 1 filters just for peace of mind. Something just doesnt seem right about the two K&Ns Ive bought.
