I use these to cut anything I would not want to use my side cutters or diagnals for. Hard wire, small bolts, small chain etc. Journeyman elect. Texas

These things will easily cut EVERY type of bolt, wire, cable, nail or fastener you can think of up to about 3/16 to 1/4. It will NOT cut hardened metal such as roll pins, certain locks or hardened fasteners that can be shot into steel. Dont try it, youll just end up ruining, or breaking, the blade.

As with all knipex tools this is good but pricey. Cutting power is better than any other diagonal cutters in this size range. I use them for cutting barbed wire while doing fence. Really good quality tool. Especially worth it if you are going to be cutting thick stuff.

I have made ~ 60 cuts of high tensile 12.5 gauge and around 100 cuts in 12 gauge fence wire so far with these and they work surprisingly well with no damage to the cutting surfaces yet. Have also made a few cuts of 9 and 10 gauge wire, which is a bit harder to cut with my aging hands but the tool still gets the job done. Pricey but worth the money compared to other tools I have used for the same purpose.

These make cutting barbed wire super easy - I can do it with one hand. They have made the job of removing all of our old fencing 1000x times easier. I couldnt be happier with their performance.
