16-06-2025I have previously used over priced Monster and a few others but this cable is very nice for the price. It has a lot of OFC fine strand pure copper..not copper plated aluminum. It worked beautifully with the Media Bridge banana plugs (item #SPC-BP2-12) as it was very easy to mushroom out the wire. Each strand measured .0045 and the total wire bundle was around .085 OD (true 12ga.), with the very soft and flexible PVC insulator (feels like silicone) diameter of .19 OD x2. The many fine strands instead of fewer larger strands make sense to me for running my Luxman/JBL 250&240Tis system. The welding cable welders use must be capable of delivering high amperage...what wire is used...many strands of small wire..not thicker wire. I do wish they had a clear insulator option...but either way good job KnuKonceptz!

16-06-2025i havent use the wire yet but it is super thick...i was gonna get the 10 gauge but decided 12 would work just as well....so glad i went 12...10 wouldve been way too much

Someone needs to tell Amazon that products are partly chosen based on delivery commitments and Amazon often doesnt meet their commitment. A simple sorry email doesnt cut it. Plain and Simple Specifications
- Wire type - CCA or OFC
These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
- American Wire Gauge
Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier"s life.
True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products
- Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
- To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
- Speaker Wire is often written as 12-2 or 12/2. This means 12 gauge x 2 conductor, both positive and negative signal are carried within one cable and are each 12 gauge.
- Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
- The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). Most speaker wire ranges from 10 to 16 gauge. 18 to 22 gauge is often much too thin for most Home Theater applications.
- Based on AWG, the true gauge of this cable is 12 Gauge
Oxygen Free Copper - The standard in audio
