> 24 hourIt is not exactly the entire Hogwarts castle; however, it is a must for Harry Potter LEGO fan like me to have this set. It is very beautiful architecture like a cathedral. The mini figures are a must also like Professor McGonagall, Quirrel, Hagrid, Nearly headless Nick, Susan Bones etc. I also like the Phoenix. The basilisk, although short, but it’s good enough. I like scabbers and Hedwig, but I don’t see Crookshanks so I got a Hermione w/ Crookshanks mini figure. The price is a bit high. Overall, I love it and I am thinking of getting the train set next time.

> 24 hourThe Hogwarts Great Hall building kit was waiting on my doorstep when I arrived home this afternoon. My nine-year-old son is our resident LEGO fanatic, and hes down for the count with a bad summer cold, so I thought it would perk him up to crack open the box and get right down to the serious business of building. A little under five hours later, we were done, and he is now on the floor, immersed in the wizarding world of Harry Potter, still sick, but not thinking about how he feels at all, just having fun. As Ive stated in other LEGO reviews, I used to think that building these kits for him was a chore, but now I look at these building sessions as relaxing bonding time between my son and I. I do most of the actual building, and he hunts for pieces for me. As always, the instructions are meticulous and easy to follow, and I thank LEGO for their wonderful system of bagging the parts in different numbered bags, so you can actually make progress and not become completely overwhelmed with the sheer number of pieces. My son loves the buildings and environments, but hes mainly in this game for the mini-figures, and this is a very rewarding set in that regard: Ten mini-figures, and four buildable creatures...not a bad haul. The Great Hall itself is a marvel of brick engineering...four levels, with the moving staircase, the mirror of erised, THE SORTING HAT (!!), a boat, wands, broomsticks....This is a GREAT set, tons of fun to build, and my little buddy is feeling better from playing with it. Priceless.
