I was hesitant to buy a cordless leaf blower. I read many mixed reviews indicating they were weak. Milwaukee M18 was only rated mid-tier. But I have the M18 hedger and string trimmer which are beasts and top quality construction. So I trusted my own experience with Milwaukee and I am glad I did! The 2724-20 trimmer is plenty powerful enough to blow leaves, grass trimmings, gravel, dirt clods off driveways and sidewalks, and leaves off the lawn. I have used extensively the Stihl BR600 backpack blower which is nearly a jet pack it is so powerful. The Milwaukee is not nearly as powerful as the BR600 but I rarely used the BR600 more than 30% throttle and the Milwaukee is plenty good to go. Many gas powered blowers have to idle fast so they dont die (unless you keep your engine tuned properly). And you dont want to turn it off frequently and have to keep restarting it. So you walk around with the blower constantly on and have to be very careful where the nozzle is pointed so as you change positions you dont accidentally blow away your pile, or blow sand against a car or passerby. The cordless blowers turn on and off in an instant so it is super convenient to just let off the trigger and stop when someone walks by or wants to chat, or you need to change position and walk through an area you do NOT want to blow. Also, the power of the M18 blower is perfect. Not so strong it blows things too far or blasts them too far into areas not wanted. Yet plenty strong enough to scour dirt clogs off the driveway and scoot gravel off it as well. You dont have to be right on top of the debris like weaker blowers. I work my debris line about 6-10 ft from me, which is perfect for me to not have to micro-manage the thing yet also have good amount of control of the debris line. The unit is very lightweight for its power. Easily handled by my 10-12 yr old grandkids and wife. I used it with my already owned M18 9.0Ah battery and after blowing the driveway, a sidewalk and some garden areas I still had all four lights on the battery status. Should do fine with 4.0 or 5.0 Ah batteries. On the highest speed it does start to produce a turbine whine. But I rarely need full blast power and anything below that is pretty quiet. I used about half power most of the time with an occasional full blast. I generally hate the sound of leaf blowers. Resisted getting blower of my own as I hate hearing the dang things so often at office and at home. But so glad I finally got this 2nd gen M18 blower. Very quiet so it is not irritating. Battery powered so no messing with gas and pull starts. Just slide in a battery and pull the trigger. Compared to the mixed reviews I read I am so surprised and pleased with the power of this blower. Not sure how it will do with wet and packed leaves. But that situation is low on my priority list. I find it very useful to blow off wood working tools, dusty shelves, outdoor work areas, blowing dirt and leaves out of the garage, keeping the drive and sidewalks clear, and it should be plenty strong enough and I think light enough to use for blowing leaves out of the gutter (not tried yet). I saw a Youtube video of a guy using his blower to rekindle his campfire! By the way, the trigger is variable speed. Many reviews I watched seemed too say you just had the fast (rabbit) and slow (turtle) settings. It does have that, much like a drill/driver does. But like the drill/driver with two speed settings it also has the variable speed trigger. So that was nice to discover. It has a trigger hold button but that does work only at top speed for either setting. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and the M18 blower is just perfect for my home use. I would think this would be very nice for a commercial landscape company to have so they could do blowing inn the early morning hours or in very quiet neighborhoods. Personally, I wish all leaf blowers were cordless instead of the annoying gas engine sounds. I love the sound of chainsaws and mowers but gas leaf blowers are just annoying to me. Milwaukee make fantastically tough cordless tools and this blower looks every bit as well designed and sturdy as the other tools I have from them.

This is lighter than the one I got a few years ago. Slightly different design, just as powerful! I got this as a gift.

I bought this since all my other power tools are Milwaukee brand so the batteries interchange. It works great.

This Milwaukee Leaf Blower is awesome, I wish Id bought one when they first came out. My yard is a little complicated and I spent years dragging an extension cord in and around plants in order not to damage them. Id put off blowing my decks just because of the hassle of the cord. I have other Milwaukee Fuel tools and love them, so this choice was a no-brainer. I also purchased the new XC 6.0 battery, which totally kicks ass. Glad I didnt buy the XC 9.0, it would probably blow the paint off my truck. If youre still tethered to a cord, do yourself a favor. This is the way to go.

This thing works amazing. It has two modes (fast/slow). On the slow mode, you can blow leaves and grass without any issues for a LONG time. But on the Fast mode, you can blow almost anything, but the battery will not last but a few minutes. You MUST get a high-quality large amp-hour battery if you want to do any lengthy blowing. If you are using this to blow off your sidewalks after mowing, this is perfect. If you are blowing leaves in the back yard, it is not practical because it will eat up batteries like crazy.
