    Wire is pretty unexciting, but Im very satisfied with this. Ive found it to be good quality, easy to work with, and inexpensive. I plan on buying it again, and with wire what else is there to say?

    Their gauges are false. I bought 1000’ of 14 gauge and it looks more like 18 gauge. Wouldn’t buy again would definitely return if it wasn’t such a hassle.

    I bought this Cable because the online store where i just got my PA Powered Subwoofers from said i needed 18 AWG 4 conductor cables. These are the crappiest cables ever. I have older 4 conductor cables from 5-10 years ago i bought from monoprice that i still have that are great. You can tell the difference. they were so strong, so well made. These cables i just ordered and received are paper thin. They are truly crap. Dont buy. Its the worst mistake you will make if you have to do in wall installation. i Installed these cables in wall this morning. The cables are so poorly made i had to come back here to read what other customers are saying about it. Thank God came a read the reviews. Now i have to go snake some better cables for my Subwoofers before my contractor close the walls. It must be another company selling off brands Monoprice cables on Amazon. In 20 years ordering from Monoprice, This is the first time i have encountered such poor product. And i always order directly from Monoprice. Because of time constraint i had to order them on Amazon to get 2 days delivery. I have to wonder, if these cables are coming from the real Monoprice company or an off brand at Amazon.

    Seems very high quality and I havent lost any sound quality IMO. I used this wire with Bay BVBC Vinyl Connector, Blue 16/14 Gauge to extend my pre-run in ceiling speaker wires so I could put the AV reciever in the top cabinet of my built in entertainment center.

this speaker wire features two conductors made of high purity (greater than 99.95% pure), oxygen-free bare copper. Pure bare copper is a superior conductor to the copper clad aluminum (CCA) conductors used in most other inexpensive speaker wire. Cca is only about 68% as conductive as pure bare copper. This additional resistance is added to the impedance of your speakers and can negatively effect The sound.

for the wire to have no audible effect, The total wire resistance should be no more than 5% of the lowest impedance of your speakers. Even speakers rated for a nominal 8-ohms, may dip to as low as 4-ohms at some frequencies, which further reduces the total cable resistance allowed in the wire. Using pure bare copper speaker wire ensures that the total load put on the amplifier remains as close as possible to the impedance curve of your speakers.

for example, a 16AWG 2-conductor pure bare copper speaker wire has a total resistance of 0.803 ohms per 100 feet (both directions must be considered). by comparison, a 16AWG 2-conductor CCA speaker wire has a total resistance of 1.181 ohms per 100 feet. Assuming 4 ohms is the lowest impedance of your speakers, a speaker wire run can be no more 0.2-Ohms total. 20 feet of 16AWG pure bare copper would be 0.1606 ohms, well under the 0.2-Ohm limit. On the other hand, 20 feet of 16AWG CCA would be 0.2362 ohms, well over the 0.2-Ohm limit.
