Good quality steel, flexible & strong. Pull & push ends for removing-installing springs (mainly looped tension springs) in hard to reach places. I used them when I worked in the field as a Customer Engineer for IBM, now they are just handy. My ex-wife uses them for casting loops on knitting loom (lift loops off pegs). Useful if you need to pull, push or hook an object that is just out of reach! I paid 3.58; good value up to $5 or so, maybe more.

Not the intended use, Im sure, but I had one of those plastic reusable ice cubes stuck in my (round) sink drain/pipe and I couldnt pry it out with my finger, so I needed something small with a bit of a hook to get underneath and dislodge it/pull it up so I could remove it... turns out, this was the perfect tool for the job! This is perhaps a very specific use-case scenario, but in case someone runs into a similar situation, this will do the trick!

Overall a great product. Newer models/versions seem to be more sturdy than older ones. Must have tool for printer repairs or any other situation where manipulating springs and shafts would be required.

I purchased this after reading a recommendation online somewhere...maybe on Boing Boing? As promised, its a great crafting tool, especially for folks like me who make tiny collages and other mini things. You will find endless ways to use it!
