11-06-2025Do you need this? No. No one needs this kit. But do you *want* this? If your JK did not come with one or you lost yours, then YES. These came FREE with all JKs starting in 2015. However, that leaves a lot of JK owners (2007-2014) out in the cold. In 2016 I found a seller on *some random online auction site* that happened to be a Jeep dealership that decided that was selling them rather than including them in each new JK as a complementary item was a great way to make a few extra bucks. (Jeep put a stop to that as soon as they heard about it.) So no more super cheap tool kits. But, I have to say that this kit is easily worth the price currently being charged. Again, if you lost yours or you have an 07-14 JK I would recommend picking up one or two of these. They are a neat pre-packaged kit to manage all the mounting hardware needed to remove or install doors, the soft top or the hard top. I have the Premium soft top and a hard top, and I run without my doors for about four months each year, so having this in the glove box is a great thing. This is all you need to complete swapping tops or getting your doors off. The package contains the green pouch, the ratchet, three Torx bits and one 10mm 1/4 socket, as well as a laminated card information card. • The ratchet is of decent quality for this sort of light duty work. I am not sure whether I would use it for anything needing much torque, though. It has a hex bit receiver rather than a square driver, like what you see on a power screwdriver. Plating is excellent, the ratchet gear seems to have fewer than 72 teeth, which is to be expected at this price point, but you do not need fine teeth to remove any of this hardware; all fasteners have plenty of swing room for the tool. (My guess on the tooth count is 40 or 45.) • The bits are well made, too. I have used them for stuff beyond the scope of this kit and have had no deformation, rounding or cracking of the tips. They appear to have been made by a very decent company. The quality of these tools makes me suspect Taiwanese origin, like many high quality tools from Asia that are not stereotypical mainland Chinese stuff. They actually remind me of a lot of my Tekton tools, which also are mostly Taiwanese and of very solid build quality. However, the size stamp on the side of each bit is very clear on one, so-so on another, and nearly invisible on the third, so these are not fantastic. • The little pouch is okay. Build quality is good, but the design is sketchy. The elastic loops are fairly tightly stretched when the bits are in place, and the sides of this wallet are completely open. I would fully expect the bits to start falling out after a few years due to the elastic being shot. It has a tiny accessory pocket. • In the accessory pocket is a laminated card with illustrations showing where each bit is used on both the hard and soft tops for both the JK and the JKU. I already knew this, but the illustrated reference was nice to have. Overall if you have a JK you need to have one of these because the price is great for what you get, and having it in the Jeep is just too handy sometimes. Highly recommended. I have used my a dozen times in the past three years.

Greater than one weekI think this is a must tool for Wrangler owners it they need to remove the hard top for warmer weather driving. My daughter found it very useful and it stores easily in the back well of the 2014 Wrangler.

> 3 dayawesome little tool kit. I used it to take hood bolt out of my jeep, and it held up very well. And it folds up neatly in a case ready to use at a moments notice
