This product is one of a kind. It is not drying to the hands. Basil is definitely my favorite. The scent is unlike other soaps. It is sweet in a different way. I cant get enough of it, I ordered all the cleaning products and laundry detergent too. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a different kind of clean crisp scent.

I buy these in bulk every month and out of all the hand soaps from Mrs. Meyers, this one smells the best.

Im a grubby blue collar worker so my hands are an eternally greasy mess. Not only does this soap do an excellent job of removing filth the basil scent is an absolute delight. I have very little tolerance for most perfumes and scents, most of our cleaning products and detergents are either dye and perfume free or very nearly. This basil scent is very, very complex and strikes a nearly perfect olfactory balance of subtle herbal, floral and astringent (in a nice way) scents. All those reviewers incapable of appreciating this masterstroke are olfactorily impaired and have my sympathies.

Enjoyed the scent of this soap. I would purchase this again. My husband liked it better then the Rhubarb scent.

When my wife bought this soap and told me what scent it was, I wasnt super excited. I love the smell of basil...you know...on FOOD. That said, this has turned out to be one of my absolute favorite of hand soaps. The basil fragrance is mixed with something sweet (maybe the Eucalyptus and Cedarwood oils?) to create a wonderful blend that wont leave you at all feeling like you smell like a side-dish. I dont believe that this hand soap is anti-bacterial (someone please correct me if I am wrong), so that would be my one criticism. In my opinion, I would much rather have an anti-bacterial soap that is harsh on skin than a regular nourishing soap, but thats just my own preference and I havent taken a star off for this because I knew it going in. That said, with a mixture of essential oils and olive oil, you know that this soap will leave your hands nourished and smooth! This is a very reasonably priced soap for the amount you get in each bottle, and the dispenser pump works without issue (you may not think this is important, trust me, Ive seen these fail on numerous other brands)! Highly recommended!

The best smelling soap ever! Wish the bottles were bigger

We really love this soap around our house. Use it all the time and consistently refill our bottles. The smell is very refreshing and unique. Perhaps a little unintuitive at first to consider -- but very very nice. This company sells refill bags that work well with the plastic bottles.

I purchased this soap during the summer, and held off on reviewing it until mid-winter, so I could comment on whether or not my hands got dried out and scaley like they do every winter, thanks to frequent washing. Im happy to report this is still a 5-star product - everything you could want in a hand-soap - gentle, green, natural, great lather that smells wonderful, rinses clean, doesnt dry out your skin, and the relatively big bottle lasts a looooonng time. Great value if you do the subscribe and save option, too!

The first time I used Meyers basil soap, my nostrils flared in decadent delight. The smell was subtle yet intoxicating. I honestly couldnt stop sniffing my fingers. It may have looked odd to the outsider, but the odorous symphony playing inside my nostrils had taken over my whole being. This is only a slight exaggeration of my euphoria. I immediately ordered a six pack of the 12.5oz bottles for my house. Ive been enjoying this soaps luxurious aroma ever since. My only gripe is that the bottles begin to deflate as the product is used, as if there is an air-tight seal- and as you pump, the air is drawn out of the bottle. This is only an aesthetic complaint, and doesnt affect the usability of the product.

We love this soap. My husband is a mechanic and it smells clean and doesnt smell cutesy. We buy this in bulk. Another good scent is their Iowa Pine. But its only a seasonal one.
