I went through several other devices trying to find one that worked with AirtV2 over-the-air recording. I have SlingTV Blue plus an outdoor antenna for local channels and wanted to be able to record the locals. I did not want to have a large hard drive hanging from my AirTV2 station, so I tried the recommended thumb/flash drives and kept on receiving compatibility errors. I took a chance on this slim drive and Im glad because the price is right. Too much space is a good problem to have. Its barely warm most of the time, but I have caught it running really warm a few times. Not hot enough to cause concern. No lag or delays, my recordings are flawless. I am aware that these drives only have a limited number of writes... Ill cross that bridge when I get there.

The product I received is different than what was advertised. The description said 256GB, but the item I received says 250GB. Additionally the description isn’t clear on the box of the item if it’s actually the transfer speed that was advertised either. Amazon support said it’s probably the right product and the seller is just falsely advertising.

With 512 GB of storage you have plenty for most peoples backup needs. (Theres a 1 TB version available too). While not as small as a regular USB flash drive the case seems more durable plus the larger size will make it less likely that you will lose it. It comes with two data cables, USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A, so you can connect it to just about any device. The advertised read times are up to 2000 MB/s and write times up to 1700 MB/s. I dont know what test program they used or what test parameters were used but my tests didnt get anywhere near those numbers. I used the MiniTool Partition Wizard v 12.7 on my Windows 10 PC and connected to the USB 3.1 port. Using a 1 GB file length with a transfer size of 4 KB yielded sequential reading at 146 MB/s, sequential writing at 171 MB/s, random reading at 113 MB/s and random writing at 161 MB/s. Using a transfer size of 32 KB yielded sequential reading at 355 MB/s, sequential writing at 382 MB/s, random reading at 350 MB/s and random writing at 370 MB/s. While these dont even approach the rated maximums they are fine for my backup purposes. Overall, I liked the drive but I docked it one star for advertising speeds that I dont believe you can even get close to.

We got this for WoW and it did a great job. Loads up significantly faster than our 1tb regular hard drive. If you need a faster load time for your games and youre on a budget, grab one of these for sure!

Product initially worked but took 5 hours to back-up 150G data on my MacBook. Virtually no sensible documentation with the packaged product or their company customer site. Sent an email with questions to the documentation referenced site but no response or even acknowledgement of my email. My older 500G backup HDD was faster and more logical. Second use, a week later to update image, was static not response. Not even an error message. Tried customer service to no quick response. Finally decided that I had enough and returned the product. There are cheaper and better product options elsewhere.

Small, reasonably priced, and convenient -- I should get two, so one can be in the safe deposit box and one at home, so I can back up my hard drive on a regular basis. Mr Ito said: Its not IF the hard drive will fail, but WHEN. Keep in mind, computers do not care about you, and your precious cloud data is only as good as the last time you backed it all up. Bought one for husband, who is also thinking of getting another one!

Just love it .. fast very fast. no issues...

All I need it to do is show up as an available drive when I boot up, and hold files. It fails that first test... every time... every day... from the start. You boot up, all other drives come online... that one is missing, so you physically go over to it and disconnect it and reconnect it and once the cable is removed and reconnected, boom, it acts like a normal drive. But because its a brat, it requires you to come and give it that special attention so that it can feel acknowledge, every day. -Which at this price point, is just exhausting and unnecessary. Look elsewhere.
