NIKON NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Standard Zoom Lens for Nikon Z Mirrorless Cameras

I hired one of these lenses to use with my Nikon Z5 at a special event and was blown away by the image quality. I decided life would be unliveable unless I had my own and sold a kidney and various other body parts but now am the proud owner of a Nikon Z24-70 f2.8 and love it. I notice the autofocus on the Z5 while not up to the standards of the Z6 ii or Z7ii bodies, is far better when using this lens. Especially in terms of locking onto moving objects like cars and motorbikes. The hit rate I find superior with this lens on the camera than others I have ( adapted and native glass). The lens has brilliant low-light performance and to my eye, edge to edge sharpness. I rarely have it off my camera now....but at this price you want your moneys worth I guess.

Could only get kit D7ii & f4 version of this lens when I purchased, out of stock everywhere. Kept my D810 as unsure of kit lens but results were super and finally decided to sell D810 & lenses to purchase this Z24-70mm f/2.8 - no regrets ! Fantastic lens, not taken many shots yet as weather awful but the ones I have taken are excellent .

Das gute Stück konnte ich direkt vergleichen mit dem 24-70 4.0 und dem 24-70 2.8 G und es ist optisch beiden sehr deutlich überlegen. Randschärfe aber auch die Schärfe im Zentrum sind deutlich besser. Die Handhabung gefällt mir ebenfalls sehr, ich bin begeistert obwohl ich die beiden vorher genannten Objektive ebenfalls besitze, die kommen aber kaum noch zum Einsatz.

Top notch all the way. Well built, nicely balanced and easy to manage on the sleek Z 7 body. A delight to use. Produces the sharpest images of any lens I’ve used to date!

Worth it if you are into photos.

I’ll leave the detailed reviews to the experts, but there are two things I really appreciate: (1) Fast lens and (2) Having the ability to control the ISO from the lens itself.

even though i already have the F/4 version of this lens, the F/2.8 version of the lens is great to have when you need a zoom lens with a higher aperture.

This was the last lens I needed for the “holy Trinity” of Nikon lenses. The other two being the 70-200 f/2.8 S and 14-24 f/2.8 S lenses. I’ve been using them on my Z6ii and Z9 bodies and they are amazingly fast, quiet, and tack sharp images.
