> 3 dayI used this to replace a fan in an old DirecTivo unit. The fan failed once before and I replaced with one I found at a local computer supply store. The first replacement (some off brand) was horribly loud and made it sound like a jet waiting to take off especially when its warmer in the house and the Tivo speeds up the fan to increase cooling. After replacing that one with this Noctua fan it is practically a whisper. When the fan isnt at full speed I hear the hard drive hum more than the fan. When the fan is at full speed I can just make out the sound of the fan, although it sounds more like the sound of air moving rather then mechanical fan noise. Theres no high frequency whine or anything of the sort. Not silent, but probably the closest thing to it Ive heard from a fan. Now if they only made something to replace the tower fan my wife loves to run at night which squeaks and whirs away loudly.

> 3 dayI love quality. Ill pay double for quality. That pretty much sums up Noctua: twice the price for triple the quality. Good buy IMO.

> 3 dayInstalled this fan in my ReadyNAS Duo. The fan that came with it was extremely loud and unpleasant to listen to, this fan is as close to silent as I can imagine. Easy install, lots of accessories and little extras. You could do worse than Noctua fans, but Im not sure you can do better.

> 3 dayEven though these are really expensive and quite ugly, they provide the same amount of airflow as normal 60mm fans without the typical high pitched whine.

Greater than one weekUsing to replace the very loud fan that came with the forced air adapter purchased for used tesla. Much quieter and still staying cool.
