NOW L-lysine 500 mg, 250 Capsules

My vocal therapist put me on this to strengthen the vocal chords as I have some inflammation and weak chords. Ive noticed improvement but one thing I didnt expect was this stuff actually has helped reduce my general anxiety. I am a big fan of the quality and price point of NOW Foods supplements and will continue using this. Especially after I learned the body needs this supplement but cant produce it naturally so you either need to get it from foods or through supplements. The more you know!

Great to take if you get shingles.

I have had cold sores for my entire life. I have usually taken only Acyclovir 800mg once a day. With only that, Id get cold sores about once every two to three months. Since Ive been taking L-Lysine 2000 - 3000 mg a day at night, I havent had a cold sore for over 6 months. So, at night, Id take 4 of these and then another 2 in the morning. No issues or side affects. These are capsules and are very easy to swallow. If youre looking to buy L-Lysine, dont get the hard pills, they are very hard and scrape on their way down when taken. Also, When Ive felt sores coming on, I usually take 2 to 4 of these and use Abreva and Acyclovir and bingo, they either dont show up or Ive actually seen the bumps simply go away. WOW! its worth every penny!!!

Lysine has no flavor so if you can’t swallow capsules you can open the capsule and sprinkle it on applesauce, yogurt, etc and take it that way. You can also apply it directly to a cold sore for great results!

Whatever youre taking Lysine for, these 500 mg CAPSULES by NOW are much smoother and easier to swallow then the 1000 mg. TABLETS. Just take two of these if you want 1000 mg dose; if not, take one. Also these work well for opening the capsule and sprinkling the powder into applesauce or fruit juice if you or a loved one--or pet--cant swallow capsules or tablets. Lysine works well for so many things, especially for preventing Shingles outbreaks, cold sores, or Herpes outbreaks.

This maybe a miracle! Ive had cold sores for years and I hate them. I tried otc and prescribed ointments, but they still last for a week and look gross. Im totally sel-conscious. Now that I have kids, Ive become overwhelmed trying to make sure I dont infect them. This led me to explore any alternative I could find on the internet. I bought the larger count size and was going to send it back and purchase a smaller bottle. My husband takes the L-Lysine also and we both take it daily. We like the Now brand so I will not be returning it. We purchase the Now products in other supplements and would not change.
