> 24 hourOverall a solid design. To get the proper torque I used a 1in dewalt 1/2 impact socket and a 1/2 torque wrench. Zero issues, and Muhammad better with todays thru axles having the 12mm stud.

> 24 hourIs it really necessary? I did use the one with the QR pin, and liked it, but also use the one without the pin and dont have much of a problem using it. But whatever. I did buy the one with the QR pin, so it looks like Ill be ordering this one too. *shrug* But have you seen their pizza cutter?

> 24 hourSo this is the 4th version of this tool that I have purchased and like all of the others, it is an improvement over my prior ones. Well, to be clear, it works well for wheels with thru-axle hubs only - I will definitely keep my other tools for my bikes with conventional axles and skewers. It also works well for removing centerlock disc rotor lockrings. Considering what I paid for my new bike with all the new tech, I figure an additional $14 for this modified tool is a reasonable investment.

CASSETTE OR FREEWHEEL?To determine the type of rear sprocket system you have, find the tool fitting on the sprocket set. Spin the sprockets backwards. If the fitting spins with the cogs, it is a cassette system. If the tool fitting does not spin with the cogs, it is a freewheel system. |
CAMPAGNOLO OR NO?If you have a multi-speed cassette, you need one of two tools. If the cassette, derailleur, or shifter are labeled with Campagnolo, the tool for you is the BBT-5/FR-11. Otherwise, you will require a tool in our FR-5.2 line. |
THE RIGHT TOOLS FOR THE JOBIn addition to the correct tool, you will also need a method of driving it (such as an adjustable wrench or 1" socket) as well as a chain whip to hold the cassette in place as you remove the lockring. Park Tool makes a full line of chain whips and wrenches for this very purpose. |
