Park Tool TL-6.2 Tire Lever Set

Its Me
> 24 hourI have a tirenthat is a stubborn SOB. Its like it wanted to be a 650b instead of a 29er. I though Id need a metal reinforced lever for the task so I bought these and for Park Tools reputation. These seemed to want to peal the plastic coating off and simultaneously scratch my rim while scraping rubber off my tire at the bead. Although Im sure I could have gotten them to work, it was better to use the Gorilla Force all plastic levers I bought at the same time. These barely bent and didnt scratch, which was perfect.

> 24 hourUnlike the thick plastic ones I got from a B&M, these actually did the job. Not only did the plastic ones not work, they were damaged to the point of being garbage after the first try. These will probably out live both my bike and me! The only thing that prevents these from being perfect is that there is no way to attach one to a spoke without tying it.

> 24 hourI like these tire levers. Having used metal levers to scratch rims and pinch tires Im not a fan of them. And Ive broken, bent or worn down enough plastic levers to not particularly care for them. These levers reach a happy compromise. If youre a gram counter these levers are a bit weighty compared to all plastic levers. But Im fine with that knowing that theyll hold up should I need to use them when riding. The metal makes them plenty sturdy and the exposed metal tip of the tire end of the tool is shaped to work well for inserting and to avoiding pinching a tube. The plastic is well positioned to avoid scraping rims. While the plastic does wear a tiny bit when sliding around a rim to remove a tire it seems like it will hold up a good long while. Ive recommended these and hope they are still made should I need replacements down the road.

> 24 hourThese tire levers work well and I am very happy about the metal internal reinforcement - I cant imagine them breaking under anything resembling normal use.
