Greater than one weekThese filters are easy to change, and they do work. I was skeptical but then saw after the first use that the filters really do work. Each filter lasts longer if you only have one cat and if you place the water in an out of the way place. With more cats you will need to change it more often. I have one cat and each filter will last for several weeks.
