UPDATE MAY 2023- This bench is proving to be an excellent investment! No sign of wear or water damage, and most importantly: NO MOLD whatsoever! Its so sturdy that Ive considered getting one to use in the garden. After dealing with mold/mildew issues with several wood (bamboo, acacia, teak) shower benches, we got a plastic one. Weve had it about 5 years and it has not shown any sign of water related problems, but MAN is it ugly. It makes the whole bathroom feel a bit tacky. A lightbulb illuminated over my head after we had a TREX deck built this spring. Knowing there a several manufacturers who make outdoor furniture from a similar lumber produced in the U.S.A. using recycled plastic bottles, I figured there had to be a shower bench made using this type of lumber. Surprisingly, this is the ONLY ONE I found. It had NO reviews at the time, and wasnt Prime. Never having heard of this company, I crossed my fingers as I ordered it. Thankfully, it arrived within a reasonable time and had been nicely packaged for its travel from China. I laid out all the pieces that were included in the box: a slightly curved top, a straight shelf, 4 legs (w/levelers attached) a card with the hardware shrink wrapped to it, a fine-grit sanding block, and the instruction sheet. My photo of all the pieces has two asterisk [ * and **] footnotes to help you with assembly. Since the seat has a bit of a curve, the tops of the legs are cut at a slight angle in order to sit flush against the underside of the seat and tightly against the crossbar/frame under the seat. A quick inspection will show that this means there is a difference in the right and left (or front and back) legs. So... if the leg doesnt sit flush when you hold it in place and the holes dont line up with the threaded inserts, just move it to a different corner where it does fit. Once you have that figured out, go ahead and attach the four legs but only screw in the bolts with your hands. If it feels tight, DO NOT force it because you dont want to strip the threads. It might take a couple of attempts to get it in perfectly straight but, once you do, it will turn easily with just your fingertips. After the 8 bolts have been screwed in, then go back with the included Allen wrench/hex key and tighten them. That’s it, you are done with assembly and all you need to do is place your bench. If needed, you can adjust the little black levelers so that your bench sits perfectly still without rocking. Typing up this review took twice as long as the actual process of unpacking, unwrapping, and assembling this bench. I love how it looks and how sturdy it is. The only improvement I would suggest is adding some other color options. A weathered teak (with a silvery gray finish) is an option I believe would be very popular.

After reading reviews of wood shower stools and reading of water retention & mold on those, I opted to spend the money for this composite stool and happy that I did. Took a minute to assemble because there werent markings for which leg goes where (and there is a difference), but once I got that figured out it went together very simply. Its very sturdy, perfect height for leg washing/shaving, and rinses off when finished. Because it is composite, it wont require setting it out of the shower to air dry in an effort to reduce mold/mildew staining. Color is nice, resembling bamboo, and I wont have to worry about mold & mildew in the grain of wood or frequent replacement.

I wanted a shower seat that I could use to shave my legs or sit on while I was washing the dog (we have a large shower). I didnt want another teak one because over time, the teak one we had, while looking good - got mold on the bottom of the legs and I had to continually clean it. This poly lumbar seat has held up nicely, it looks like teak and is very sturdy. I dont see it getting mold because I just wipe it dry and it is dry. I would buy again.

This makes for a great bench, certainly not for narrow tubs though. The wood is gorgeous and has no splintering. It holds 280lbs with no wobble. I do think the price is pretty steep but if you dont mind paying for the looks of it its a great buy

Pros: - Truly waterproof as it is not wood, - really looks like wood, very cute. Definitely the best looking option I found for an in shower bench - very solid and sturdy, doesn’t move when I sit on it - worth the high cost for me Cons: - almost too big. I do not have enough space to be under the spray if it is opposite the faucet. My shower is 40 inches long from faucet wall to back wall and 36 inches wide from window wall to ledge. - the bottom screws for stabilization were not long enough for me to have the bench in the corner due to sloping towards the drain. I have to have it centered under the faucet.

This is a VERY sturdy seat. Looks great and Im sure it will last much longer than the bamboo & teak seats. Very good quality. Extremely easy to put together. Arrived in 2 days. Highly recommended.

This is a heavy chunk of a stool! Color is a bit lighter than most would think teak would be, but the precision of how it was made is unbelieveable. Highly recommend!
