Replacement Seat for Herman Miller Classic Aeron Size C Large (Black Mesh)

I purchased this replacement seat for an older Herman Miller Aeron Classic chair. I think my chair is from the early 2000s. The old seat on mine was cracked and broken. Cracks developed both on the sides where the bolt holes are, as well as the back where the rods attach from underneath. This new part is a perfect replacement, and is OEM from Herman Miller. It comes with tools for installation too. Very good quality. The seat is the new design with extra ribs in the moulding around both the bolt holes and the underside at the back. This should prevent any cracking :) It also fits perfectly on older chairs.

What failed was the fabric. But, replacement is the whole thing comprised of two metal pieces screwed together which hold the fabric priced $200+. And no recycle of the metal, so off to the landfill is the only option. Shame on Herman Miller for poor planet protection. Chair is just fine.

After 15yrs, my original Aeron chair seat was stretched out & had become uncomfortable to sit in. I run a business from home & when Im working in my home office I basically live in my Aeron chair. The FOAMON OEM seat replacement for my Aeron chair came with instructions & all the tools I needed to install my new seat. It also included a set of gloves to help keep my hands clean from dirt & lubrication from the chairs connecting joints & parts. I read the instructions but also found some good videos on the Internet so I had a clear visual of how to do the replacement. I did all of the work with my chair on the ground & without having to turn it over or flip it upside down. The whole replacement too me about 10 minutes. I did have one minor issue with the Hip Pivot screws which is unrelated to the actual seat assembly. These screws are in a cowling that on my chair popped out along with the screws. Not a big issue. To solve this, I used a rubber mallet to gently tap the cowlings back into place. This allowed me to fasten the Hip Pivot screws without trying to fight the cowlings at the same time as I was trying to screw the seat into place. For me there was no over-tightening as it seems that the four screws used to secure the seat have a definite stopping point. Simply screw everything in until they become snug & youre done. My Aeron chair feels just like new again. I highly recommend this product.

So glad we found this replacement seat on Amazon!! Saved us so much money. Our mesh seat was breaking apart after years of use. My son use to lean into the chair with his knees consistently and it stretched out a portion of the seat. So glad to have found this replacement! Didn’t want to spend the money to buy a whole new chair! Now it’s good as new! Soooo happy!!

My trusty chair finally gave way and snapped after about 20 years. I wanted to rescue it and found this replacement. It was very easy to install and makes the chair like new!

I cant say for sure if this is an official OEM part from HM, but it does work great. My chair is 20+ years old and the seat finally started to tear. This replacement seat fit perfect with no issues. Id been sitting on the torn seat for about a year and replacing it really changed the feel of the chair, in a good way. Way more support. I dont seem to slump as much now. I recommend this replacement this for anyone wanting to refresh their torn, worn out, loose mesh seat.
