> 24 hourI really like this vacuum, but the battery is definitely defective and it appears the only solution is to return the entire unit verse just the battery for replacement. This is really disappointing and if that is the route I have to take I will just try a different brand rather than rolling the dice again. I work with lithium batteries every day in cordless tools. I know a defective one when I use one. Should be able to simply get a replacement battery....

> 24 hourI have lupus with mobility issues. My husband and son have no clue how to (as my grandmother used to say) run the sweeper. (Actually, thats not quite true - my son knows how and actually does it unprompted from time to time, but its mostly up to me). If you are pressed for time, this Samsung is what you want for shag carpets/fluffy rugs/anything with a lot of nap. The ELLGEE cordless vacs are amazing, but shag is their kryptonite. Skip the big brand. If you get one free, take it, but otherwise, thumbs down. Anyhow, my love of the right tool for the right job is no secret, and vacuums are no exception. I have gone through several kinds/brands since I started having trouble pushing things around - sometimes because they were unsuited to their intended purpose for anyone (gross bagless ones that required me to stick my hand into the yucko in order to clean the basket), sometimes because they couldnt handle my hair, let alone my cats hair, sometimes because they died after one use, and sometimes because even though I had loved them and they were solid reliable working class heroes this old bag of crunchy bones could no longer stand the pain. Putting my last upright on the sidewalk with a Free - Works GREAT sticky hurt my heart. What didnt hurt my heart was putting a D*son V6 out right next to it. Thing was fine as long as you didnt need it to pick up anything heavier or bigger than floor cheerios. Pellet cat litter was a nope for that one. I kept the V7 and still have it. But I use it only in the back hall where the catbox lives and use it to clean cat hair off the bathroom floor because it has all the nicest attachments for tight places. Its useless on carpets and scatters pretty much everything you can think of on hard floors. I put it together from a refurb deal on the head and various parts on various sites. The big brand killer was an EllGee that is phenomenal on hard floors but a bit overzealous on carpet. By overzealous, I mean it tries to pull the rug up off the floor, chokes itself out, then dies from lack of oxygen. Cleaning carpet nap out of the intake port is a pain I never thought Id be willing to endure, but I figured out that this was why Id gotten these refurbs so cheaply. You think theyre dead, but they arent. Theyve shut themselves down because they need to be cleaned in places its up to you to figure out how to access. NGL, the ELLGEEs are monsters. But the pain/clean ratio, while better than the big name brand, is still a tough one, especially at their price point. Which brings us to the Samsung. Right up front: you may not like how you empty it. You take the catch bin off and dump it. If you want to, you can also take off the mesh filter. I like this. I dump it, wipe it down, and its like having a new vacuum every time I use it. Beyond that, it gets all of the dirt out of my carpet without blocking its own intake - the dirt goes and stays where its easy to get rid of. You arent prodding your vacuums unknown places with a chopstick trying to get it to breathe so it can start. In this way, it is more like the D*son, which only rarely blocks itself. However, the Samsung is lighter than both. It has a long wand (the ELLGEE is adjustable, and the D*son is kind of a backbreaker at my height - 55) that makes it possible to reach under the furniture all the way to the wall. Its also less expensive new than either of my other cordless vacuums was refurbished. If the idea of taking your vacuum apart to dump it bothers you and you dont have (shag) carpets, the ELLGEE is excellent. Best in class. If you have shag carpets/rugs, this Samsung is the best of the three.

> 24 hourThis vaccuum is lightweight, easy to maneuver and picks up well. It is a little tricky to remove and replace the waste bin.

> 24 hourOur floors have never been so clean because this thing is so light weight and easy to use that my 4 year old is obsessed with vacuuming, so our floors get done several times a day. Great suction for a cordless. We have a cat and Labrador, so shedding happens regularly and this does a great job of picking up the hair on my short pile area rugs, tile, and hardwood. The battery life lasts about 30-40 minutes on max power setting. I don’t know that I would completely replace my traditional Dyson with it, because, while suction is awesome for a cordless, it doesn’t do the same quality job on carpet as my traditional upright. But, we love this for what it is and it serves as a perfect secondary vacuum for lighter daily cleaning, cleaning up after my kids eat, and vacuuming stairs/furniture.

> 24 hourNot happy with small attachment for dust Good thing is easy to clean and start again! Great suction. It’s heavy but that means a powerful Suction. I have mostly Oriental rugs and it gets dog hair great!

> 24 hourVacuum is great for carpet and couches and even blankets. Gets animal hair up. If you have long hair you will have to cut it out of the bottom each use. Hardwood flooring is where it lacks. Does ok but not as good as I thought. Even on Max suction is does have a hard time even picking up kitty litter.

> 24 hourDisappointed with this vacuum as it handles great and is lightweight but to get any suction it must run at highest speed and still fails to pick up everything. The battery loses power quickly when on high speed so is less efficient for cleaning larger spaces.

> 24 hourSo it’s taken almost a year and for some reason I see two vacuums in my house. A cheap bissell Walmart special and this one. I vacuum with the Samsung…. And just realized I always vacuum with the cheap Walmart one afterwards since there is still dog hair on the rugs and floor corners. Take that for what you will.

> 24 hourSuction was okay, but after the first use the vacuum head snapped off while I was looking at how to unload the canister. Its now dangling by a wire. If Its this easy to break with me gently using it, it doesnt stand a chance of surviving a family with kids.

> 24 hourNot what I expected for a $300 vacuum cleaner. it seems to perform the same as the $30 vacuum we had before. I wish that it maneuvered a little bit better. I feel like I have to vacuum on max suction setting always to feel like anything gets clean. However, the dustbin does fill up so it is picking up stuff. The button on the dustbin broke about a month into use and I called in the warranty, and Samsung is shipping me a replacement dustbin. Also, our last cordless vacuum cleaner had lights on it and I really miss that feature. I can vacuum my entire house which is 2000 ft.² on a single charge. Also, if you have rugs from the brand rugable, the washable rugs. You cannot use this vacuum cleaner on them even on the lowest suction, it won’t work. It acts like it’s jammed, and the brush stop spinning. And lastly, it took some getting used to to be able to remove the dust bin and empty it and put it back. It’s very difficult to handle and I don’t believe it clicks into place or makes any sound when you’ve put it back together properly.
