Schmincke - HORADAM® AQUARELL - finest artists watercolor paints, 521 Hookers green, 14 521 044, 1/2 pan

Its more blue than grey, but its a very nice slate blue color, and my new favorite!

So smooth! No chalky residue at all! Vibrant color!

Very happy with this addition to my watercolor collection.

This paint is professional quality, however there are much better sepia shades out there then this one, mine was very badly cracked and flaky when I received it,and compared to my other sepia colours it just isnt the best. I recommend royal talens Rembrandts sepia instead.

Absolutely beautiful color - greatest paints Ive used.

Arrived 22 days after shipping (from UK to USA). Nice fuschia color. The only bummer is that these half pans are smaller than US half pans, so not as much paint :( You can see that in my second photo.

compact, convenient, and a must have for traveling artists. I have not used liquid oxgall before but after this, I see little reason to try. I just do a few swipes with a slightly damp brush and mix it in with whatever color I am using and I am pretty much guaranteed to have a perfectly smooth wash of paint. It works well with granulating pigments, I have found, the pigments in Daniel Smiths moonglow has a tendency to separate as it dries if its too wet. With the oxgall the pigments stayed combined and dried evenly. I feel I should also point out that the pans from Schmincke is slightly shorter than the standard half pans I have. However, they do not taper at the bottom. The difference is not huge or even a problem, but it is noticeable if you have a mix of pans in your palette.
