We all know that packing up your stuff in advance of a big move is a real pain. You can probably go cheaper with a generic version of shipping tape. But when you need it done right, go with the brand you know and can trust. Scotch is the one to get!

I like the Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging tape and have used it for years. Because it is clear I can safely tape over labels and bar codes and know that they will still be seen. However, I believe there is room for improvement in the packaging regarding two things. 1) Getting the tape off the roll. You have to look very carefully for where there is a serrated edge on the tape, scrape it with your thumbnail, and then finally pull it to a place about 1/2 wide where it is not attached and pull it free. This could be made much simpler by just having a small strip of the tape with non-stick backing at the start of the tape. 2) The cardboard portion which fits around the cutting edge. It is easy to pull off the main part of the cardboard, but at the end there are always two little pieces stuck on either side which usually require me to get a pair of tweezers and remove. Again, I think there could be a more user-friendly way of doing this. So, yes, it is good tape, but I think the company could make some improvements in the way it is packaged, for added consumer convenience.

Difficult at first to open and use I have arthritis and am 70 years old

The best clear packing tape you can buy. This tape works well when preparing packages for mailing. The adhesive is great allowing the tape to do its job. This tape is sturdy but still easy to tear with the built in cutting edge.

The tape is great for packing, as it is strong and adheres very well. A little difficult dispensing, mainly because it is so adhesive, but well worth the money.

very good, plays out of dispenser without tangling, holds fast and secure, cuts easily, recommended.

Great tape except for the eardrum-splitting, crazy-making NOISE it makes coming off the roll, a deal breaker for me.

I bought this to seal 5 cubed boxes for mailing. It does its job well but is hard to tear using the plastic dispenser and sometimes comes off the rings that it is meant to spin on. Still, 4 stars for keeping the packages shut.
