SeaStar Solutions HA5430H SeaStar/BayStar Hydraulic Steering Fluid, 1 Quart

Received last night the bottle of hydraulic steering fluid and didn’t open the box. It had leaked out over everything in the box. Woke up this morning with hydraulic steering fluid all over my kitchen table. Disgusting mess and I don’t know how to even clean it up.

Used it once and the steering power in my boat drastically improved

The bottles were refilled, and were leaking out in the package.

Hydraulic steering systems are one of reliable solution for many boats. These systems are generally maintenance free and perform well for many years. Using the fluid that is designed for the system will assure compatibly and protection for the various parts of the system. Using the incorrect fluid can lead to degrading of the hoses and seals within the system, costing far more than you saved...

I can not verify that this is truly Seastar hydraulic fluid. Label is not correct and looks very generic. For a product that has a nickname of liquid gold ($30 + a quart ), I am not willing to take the chance. Very disappointed as I now have to return and not able to do the job I need to do this weekend. Buyer beware

Ordered from Ocean Supply, great product. Tried equivalent products previously but this OEM stuff is really the best.

Its fluid. It exists in a liquid state...works great in your hydraulic steering system.
