Only used on laminated floors and a large area carpet, Id say it works absolutely fine. Doesnt have the suction like my old Kenmore canister but it serves its purpose just fine. It didnt cost an arm and a leg so if I have to replace in 5 years so be it. Would I buy again, probably unless I ended up with carpet throughout our house, then Id bite the bullet and spend the money for a higher end quality vacuum.

This vacuum is a God send! I can’t say enough good things. It’s very very easy to maneuver. The head of it is able to swivel, so it’s easy to access corners of a room. It’s also small, but that is a plus!! You can get anywhere with this vacuum. Its size does not at all interfere with the vacuums performance. I also love how you are able to detach the plate under the brush so you can clean out allll the hair that you’ve vacuumed up. It’s such an easy to use vacuum. It pretty much drives itself around lol. I lost track of time vacuuming because I was as enjoying it. Sounds crazy, but the pick up power of this vacuum is off the charts. Good job Shark!

Love this vacuum so much! I have another stick shark vacuum that I use in my motorhome which doesn’t have much carpet it’s majority vinyl and it does a really good job. So I thought it’d look to find another shark brand stick vacuum that I’d spend more on. Couldn’t be happier! I have hardwood and some rugs/carpet in my house. It picked up everything from dirt/debris to dog hair easily off the hardwood. And In the kids rooms which have carpet it picked up so much dirt ( I run a roomba twice weekly in these rooms scheduled). Can’t believe all the dirt left behind from the roomba that it picked up! Also loved the upholstery attachment to clean my sectional. Picked up so much dog hair and made it look so clean. Would buy again!

After reading thousands of reviews on tons of different products, we officially decided on this one and we are so glad we did. It’s a phenomenal vacuum. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs all indoor, and we need something that really tackles the hair and this product definitely does the trick! Another thing we really love is the length of the wand. That sucker is so long! We can clean the rafters and the ceiling fans so easily. The only to cons are: it doesn’t free-stand, and it is corded. Neither of those things really mattered to us if the vacuum was strong enough and did a great job, and it does. Hopefully it lasts a long time!

This is the Sthil Chainsaw of carpet vacuums. Honest, Ive been around for a long time and this thing runs circles around Grandmas Kirby or Electrolux. Turns an old carpet into like-new.

It’s lightweight and the swivel lets you get into tight spots. However- 2things: 1. It won’t stand on its own. To park it for a minute, you have to click it into upright position(easy) then prop it against a wall on its rubber thingys to keep it from rolling off. 2. Note the height of it. A 5’1 friend wanted to test it out & the long nozzle in the upright position was way to long for her height. I’m 5’7 so it was no issue for me.

I wanted a vacuum that was lightweight, could function as an upright as well as a more portable vacuum, and with attachments that were easy to switch out. My other vacuum is a 13-year-old Dyson Animal – I like it, but it’s heavy at 19 lbs., hard to lug up and downstairs, and requires a lot of thumb pressure to remove attachments. I wanted high quality but didn’t want to spend what I did on the Dyson. The Shark Rocket TruePet Ultralight Vacuum checked all my boxes, and then some. 1. The “rocket” handheld part is only 4 lbs. Perfect for when I constantly need to suck up ladybugs that have squeezed their way inside in the autumn. Or for many other quick vacuum needs. When paired with the long wand and rotating floor brush it’s still only about 8 pounds. 2. Attachments easily click in, and easily detach with a rocker switch. 3. After I received the TruePet, I carefully vacuumed a couple rooms first with the Dyson, and then followed with the Shark. It picked up a little more dust than the Dyson. 4. Less than half the price of the Dyson! 5. The LED lights are awesome. They are on both the rocket and the rotating floor brush, and highlight stuff you wouldn’t otherwise see. 6. The TruePet Motorized Brush is why I sought out this particular model. Shark has several models in the HV320 series. Their website isn’t good at showing how they differ. I think they all have the same rocket, but are accessorized differently. And including the motorized brush makes this a good deal because it’s the same price as the others in the series. This thing has really good power. I have a similar accessory on my Dyson, but it is big and clunky and will fall off the hose if you don’t hold onto it. Shark’s brush clicks in securely so you don’t have to worry about it. 7. Flexible hose. It’s only about 12 inches or so, but it’s a handy extra to have when you need extra reach to get into smaller spaces or just need the flexibility. Kudos to Amazon for being the only online retailer that I could find that even mentions this accessory. Even the box doesn’t tell you everything that is included, until you open the box and see the list on the inside flaps. That was frustrating, because I bought a different model in the HV320 series first only to find it didn’t come with what I wanted. Kudos also to the reviewer(s) who posted photos of the box contents. That really helped! 8. The dust bin. This holds plenty for its size, and is easy to remove and empty without making a big mess. 9. Pushing this as an upright is a breeze. I do have low-pile carpeting, but it feels like it’s self-propelled. I can feel the resistance when I pull back, so I know the suction is good. 10. Loved that Amazon’s packaging came with not only a bigger Amazon box to hide the contents, but the original box was snugly inside another plain box from the manufacturer. Well protected and nobody had to know what had been delivered. 11. Some comment that it doesnt stand upright by itself. Not a big deal to me because its really easy to detach the rocket and hang it on the wand near the floor. Negatives? Like others have mentioned, it would be nice to have a hard floor brush tool available without having a microfiber cloth. Applications would be basement floor or if its dirty enough that youd like to pre-clean before using the tool with the attached cloth. Since the first stroke on a surface isnt always a forward stroke, the microfiber pad would stay cleaner longer if there was suction behind as well as in front of the pad. The wand attached to the hard floor tool (the one with the pad) doesnt lock in and stay upright whether the rocket is hanging on the bottom of the wand for storage or not. It would be nice if the on-board tool clip allowed you to click in the accessories instead of just staying on with friction, because they have a tendency to fall off. But then the accessories meant to go on that clip dont click in to the vacuum either. The rolling floor brush doesnt slide all the way under my coffee table, which has a shelf 3.5 off the floor. It will slide in 8, up to the point where the rolling brush meets the handle. Thats still at least 6 further than my Dyson can go, so at least its an improvement.

So far I am loving this vacuum. I was debating between corded and cordless, because I hate a cord, but didnt want to give up power. Ultimately this feels plenty powerful and the cord allows me to reach much further than my previous (dirt devil) vacuum. Speaking of the old vacuum, I vacuumed a small section, then hit it with the shark, straight out of the box and 3 or 4 rows of vacuuming filled the dust cup. I think this shows 1) effectiveness, and 2) why I say the cup is slightly small. It could be that as I use this vacuum, I am less annoyed by the small cup as the carpet will be less dirty. Overall, even if the cup always fills up, Id buy it again. Great power and effectiveness for the price.

We have one very sweet little cat that seems to lose its weight in hair every month - its everywhere. Not to mention kitty litter and dried up bits of food that coat the floors in all of the rooms week upon week... Ive only ever had $60-80 vacuums and with all of the trouble they have caused with clogged filters, lack of power and loss of suction, I decided to invest in this Shark and I have to say, its a darn good vacuum. When Im using this thing, I believe I actually have a look on my face similar to the woman in the pictures - like were content to vacuum all day long and possibly for a living. It truly is a joy to use - very lightweight but still has some heft in the main motor unit so you can tell it is built well. And it is powerful - I havent kept up with the technological advances in home vacuums and havent done the tests with nuts, bolts, marbles or a bowling ball - but it does hurt when you get it stuck to your face - FYI. All of the attachments connect to the unit with a satisfying click and are effortlessly removed. The carpet sweeper unit helps propel itself forward on even the thicker carpets which is a treat because the older cheapo units would get stuck in some areas. Maneuverability and getting under low clearance objects is now done with total ease. The hardwood floor attachment with the terrycloth pad that wipes while moving it across the floor works well too. And though the dual lights on the carpet sweeper and the one on the main unit look really cool (like Audi supplied headlights for this thing), I was surprised to find that they actually light up the carpet/floor and work very well in spotting areas you may have missed. The smaller upholstery sweeper is my favorite attachment and after using it on two of my sofas, I was amazed (and then equally appalled) at how much dirt and hair was deposited into the bin. And the bin is small - like others reviewers stated, I had to empty it 3-4 times after doing the whole place on the first use. However, like a lot of them said, that was just the first time going through what I previously presumed to be my clean apartment. The next week yielded far less and I only had to empty twice (and thats because I leave the bin clean for the next use to gauge how dirty things get over the week). Its a cinch to empty and clean - unlike the last Hoover I owned...I dont want to talk about that. The other truly wonderful thing about this vacuum and my main reason for buying it is its small footprint. Its not designed to stand upright on its own but if you live in a 1 bedroom apartment with valuable limited closet space and a girlfriend/wife that wants all that limited space to herself for her stuff, you dont want a vacuum taking up space where your Taylormades clearly fit and absolutely belong. A plastic wall/door mount hook comes in the box and I now have it mounted on the wall close to the ceiling inside my precious tool closet where it fits perfectly and is totally out of the way of anything else stuffed in there, the bag of attachments hanging right next to it. The only slightly annoying part is cord management (and I say this coming from a vacuum that had a retractable cord so dont take it too seriously unless you currently have one with that option and have gotten used to the bliss of not having to wrap and then unwrap when you are told you missed an area that needs cleaning). There is a cord hook on the main unit and then a hook on the carpet sweeper and the floor sweeper. If you have the cord wrapped around the hooks on the unit and either of those attachments, you cannot remove that attachment from the extension pole without unwrapping the cord completely. Its a small hassle and easily remedied by just wrapping the cord around the main unit handle and dust bin instead of using the hooks. That way, you can interchange and store the way you want without fussing with the cord first. As you can tell, Im not getting technical on this review - I dont know much about vacuums because they arent my thing and it took some deep reasoning and soul searching for me to pull the trigger on a $250 (with tax) dirt sucking machine - I was simultaneously looking at any other FUN electronic item for the same amount before I clicked buy. But, all-in-all, Im happy with the choice and thanks to all the reviewers who helped me make it. If youre living with someone who has de facto control over all of the storage space in a 1 bedroom apartment with 4 small closets but only 1.5 you can call yours and everything of communal use has to go in your closet exclusively, this is the vacuum for you. If you have more space to work with and call your own, good for you - very happy for you. You will like the vacuum too.

I bought this as a replacement for an aging canister vac. The fundamental design concept of this Shark vacuum is a good one, but the practical details need some work. First the good. The motor, filters, dust collector, and switch are all incorporated in a compact unit in the top, handle part of this vacuum. In most applications the handle unit will be supported by the extension tube and an accessory resting on the floor, so it is not too heavy. The dust collector has a pretty good capacity and will likely get through an average-size house before it needs emptying. The collector itself is well-designed. It can be emptied while still in the handle unit if you happen to be near a trash can, or it can be removed from the unit for easy transport to a trash can. The dirt comes out easily, with no need for shaking and banging and thereby raising big clouds of dust. The cord is long, which allows for a good range without switching outlets. On the other hand, the cord is long, which can cause some inconvenience with wrangling and tangling. It winds up on two holders, and a neat design feature allows you to swing one of the holders down to remove the whole cord without unwinding it one coil at a time. Power and suction seem pretty good, and the LED lights are surprisingly bright and useful. The turning/swivel mechanism works well. And now for the nitpicking. The business end of a vacuum is where the suction meets the dirt, and it is here where the HV322 could use some refinement. I have mostly hardwood floors, so I figured the Dust-Away hard floor attachment would be my most-used accessory. It is like a combination of a Swiffer and a typical floor brush. However, it has two little plastic wheels on it that rub along the floor, making noise and feeling like they are scraping the floor. In addition, it is about three times bigger than a standard canister floor brush, making it harder to move and to get in all the nooks and crannies. Finally, after using it I feel like I have to take it off and vacuum off the dust that accumulates on the microfiber pad. The motorized carpet attachment seems to work pretty well, with a two-speed brush for low or deep pile carpet. It can also be used on hard floors, but with pretty much the same caveats about size and noise. There is a combination crevice tool/dust brush, which seems like a clever idea but in practice is not so good. The catch that lets the dust brush move keeps pinching me, it is too long overall for easy dusting, and it has cheap flimsy plastic bristles. There is also a motorized pet brush that works pretty well. I dont have dogs or much upholstery, but it did a good job in my car, with a swivel that lets the brush adjust to the surface. I thought I could fix the shortcomings by buying a floor brush and dusting brush. But, it turns out the tube diameters used on the Shark Rocket are not the standard 1 1/4 used by most other brands. With much measuring and analyzing of specs, I finally found an adapter

At under 10 lbs., this ultra-lightweight upright vacuum easily converts into a hand vacuum for versatile floor-to-ceiling cleaning. It"s equipped with Advanced Swivel Steering, LED headlights to reveal debris, and has an XL-capacity dust cup. It comes with the Duster Crevice Tool, which gives you extended reach into small spaces and the ability to clean a multitude of surfaces, and the Pet Multi-Tool, for capturing embedded pet hair on all surfaces.
